Middle School Teachers
What do the people you live with (family members, friends, roommates) think of teaching now that they can see it first hand? More respect?
I was told today I am teaching 6th grade math virtual summer school. Should be an interesting summer.
How many times (per day, week, month) have you used Amazon since mid-March? I'd say at least once a week I'd get a package (prime member, here!)
So my language school wants to start a Summer Camp in about 3 weeks (with masks of course and groups of 6 students) but I don’t feel ready for this. Would you accept?
For those doing Pass/Fail this quarter, what is your Pass rate? Adjusting for kids who we know had tech issues and/or family issues (parents gone a lot, illness, mental health issues, ect) who got an Incomplete, I had 25% Fail. Within that rate, I bumped anyone with a 40% or higher to Passing, which is sorta pathetic, if you ask me, bc my school’s “Pass” is 50%. So I’m doctoring this grades as best as I can, but it’s still so bad! 🤦🏻♀️
What other identities or selves do you have besides teacher? (i.e. mother, sister, daughter, pastor, coach, etc).
I’m thinking of switching schools for next year, and have been for a while. Is it a good idea to move districts in the middle of a pandemic? I’ve heard people say it’s risky since you’ll be low on the seniority list and at risk for being let go due to budget shortages. I would like to leave my current placement but don’t want to end up losing my job altogether. Any insight?
