Middle School Teachers

I have some good students who just do what it takes to get an A-- nothing more, nothing less. How do I motivate them to do more?
My students are so stressed over upcoming standardized tests and I can't blame them. I'd be stressed too! I don't remember taking so many when I was in school. How many did you have to take?
Do you have students who rush through their tests and get bad scores as a result? And then when I ask them later what the answer is, they know it. Solutions?

Which animal best describes a middle schooler? I think a squirrel- fidgeting, curious and sometimes fiesty. 😂
I have to cringe when I hear other teachers mispronounce my students' names. I try really hard to get it right because I remember when teachers mispronounced mine.
AP Teachers: have you ever thought about removing prerequisites/course requirements to allow anyone to take the class?
Do any of you teach multiple grades in one class? I teach ESL 6th-8th because of our small numbers, but it's a HUGE pain when it comes to scheduling and keeping track of grade-level activities!
