Folks who used to be based in NYC but have moved elsewhere, if you still work with agencies in NYC, do you charge NYC rates or lower your rates to be more attractive?

I'm worried I asked for too much from a client. I asked for $125/h for Senior Product Designer work. Did I ask for too much? I thought it was fair given taxes and no benefits.
