Are any Southwest Airlines employees on here that can provide some info on non-rev travel? I'm up for a role there and am curious as to whether as a non-rev traveler, I'm always going to be stuck in Group C and sitting in a middle seat. I used to work at American Airlines, and I assume that experience is completely different from SWA's as a non-rev traveler.

Currently work with finance industry. Looking for SE role in Travel/hospitality industry (I.e. EXPE, Marriott, Southwest, AA, Delta, airlines).
Some questions:

1. Which one offers job security?
2. How is it like working with them?(WLB/teammate/culture/support for career growth)
3. Which Business Unit I should avoid?(known for its horrible wlb)

4. Other advice/insight?

I have the Chase Rapid Reward card and gave 90k points saved up on Southwest over the years but I’ve stopped flying with them (haven’t flown in general due to pandemic). Is there a way to transfer these points to another airline, or even use them on hotel bookings? Any recommendations on how I can best redeem these points?

I have the Southwest card and AmEx Blue Cash Rewards, if that’s helpful info. I would eventually love to get a good travel card like the AmEx Platinum, but right now I don’t foresee myself doing a lot of traveling, so it doesn’t make as much sense. Mostly looking for a good dining/food or every day use card.

Advice please. I have 3 chase cc: Sapphire Reserve, United Explorer, and Southwest Premier (first ever cc so don’t really want to get rid of it, but thinking of downgrading to Plus). I’m well beyond Chase’s 5/24 rule (last cc was March 2019). Between me and my bf, we have almost 500,000 chase points (have used all United and SWA points). We have been hoarding points for international trips. What would be your next card if you were me? Excellent credit, not a business traveler.

Has anyone flown on Southwest recently for business travel? I live by a hub for American Airlines, I travel frequently for work, & I’m up to Platinum status. The travel agency my employer uses used to exclude all discount airlines but recently added Southwest. Since the travel policy is based on the lowest price airfare available (regardless of stops/time/etc), we’re being forced to book Southwest instead of American. I am not happy about this. My previous experiences with Southwest were awful.

Just got Marriott Bon Voy card. Other cards are CSP and Southwest. Can someone explain what elite nights and silver/gold elite mean?

Anyone know if we can extend the Southwest A-List status trial that we got through our company? KPMG provides 90 days, but if I can extend it another 30 days, then I can qualify for the longer term status.

Is 88k pretax a livable salary in DC? Just accepted my return offer to move to DC upon graduation and I have never been to DC. Additionally I’m from the southwest and making more than either of my parents ever have combined - but I understand COL is much much lower in Oklahoma and Texas than in DC.

United Status Pros, question for you. I’m newish to United being my primary carrier (previously it was southwest and Alaska airlines). My team travels every few months across country and I’ve hit my PQF easily but seem to really struggle to make any headway in my PQP, I think they’re calculating at the mileage divided by 5. I can’t understand people who willingly relocate to the southwest or Texas. How do you put up with 100F or 120F in Phoenix? Can you even go outside between May-September?
