Hi everyone,

Received an offer to join
UBS in London. HR mentioned they offer a 16% "ValueFlex" package on top of base salary. Apparently if you don't use it to buy optional benefits (i.e. insurance etc), you can get it as cash in your monthly payslip.

Anyone at UBS who can confirm? Having a lot of trouble to get in touch with them..

Was offered a huge raise to go to a company that is 3 days a week in office and probably busier than my current job with not as good of benefits (still great).

Current job is very chill, and fully remote.. they countered to match the new salary and total comp.

I chose the new job, hoping the opportunities will push me further along in my career. Also need some discipline of going into the office vs sitting in my sweatpants all day at home.

hopefully I made the right decision 🙏

Any financial planners that can provide some insights/advice? My wife and I (upper 20s) have a 1.5 year old. We currently have $100k in HYSAs, an additional $70k in increment accounts, $150k in retirement accounts. I’ve maxed 401k, Roth, spousal IRA. $100k should give us 2 years worth of living expense if anything negative happened between food and mortgage. Should I stop adding money to the bank and just grow our investment accounts?

Which would you choose and why?
1) FP&A at a bank
2) Portfolio Analytics at PE

I personally want to move towards FP&A bc I think it’s more interesting & transferable. But the benefits + pay is so much better at the PE firm. I think I will be happier working at the PE firm, but I think FP&A is more transferable if I were to leave (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong).

should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they
may try to offer lower than what was
posted. Also there was no range but the
average for this position is upper 70s-90k.
