Currently working as a Financial Analyst in Healthcare (3 YOE FP&A, 6 YOE overall finance/ops) performing financial modeling, reporting, and heavy data manipulation. Looking to pivot towards a less data/analytic heavy role in Operations, Strategy, or Finance. Any recommendations or referrals?

I'm currently working in a leadership program at a pharmaceutical company. YOE 6, MBA, CFA. TC 190k+. Currently doing FP&A and have the chance to switch to Controllership/Treasury. I wonder if working in pharma would lower my chance of getting a Corporate Finance job in Tech. There seems to be a lot of opportunities in Strategic Finance/FP&A at Tech companies that offer really good benefits.
What skills/experience should I build up for better opportunities in Tech later down the road?

Benefits of moving from a large BB firm to a small broker dealer? (office size less than 50). Any major negatives?

Did several rounds of interviews for a financial analyst role with a cybersecurity company. They went with another candidate, who then backed out of the process so they offered the role. The recruiter asked “what is your magic number?” And shyly, I told her between 75k -82k. She responded with an “okayyyyy..... 🤔🤔” then said that she could get me up to 85k. I’m kind of regretting not asking for more now that I’m seeing the expense of the benefits. Kind of want upwards of 95k. Too late?

I have accepted an offer.

My “future boss” will go on paternity leave within 30 days of me joining the new company.

How can I make it easier for myself and worthwhile for my boss to trust me while he is gone?

Any tips will be highly appreciated.

I’m a Registered Client Service Associate (not senior as my title suggests. Not sure why it changed from just registered CSA) at Morgan Stanley. I have been here about 8 months. I have my 7, 66 and life and health insurance licenses. I make 70k currently. Just wondering if I’m being paid fairly. NYC. note I do get paid separately from the advisors I cover but I want to make sure MS is compensating me fairly.

What is the salary range I should be asking for an Internal Audit role and FP&A role?

Finance Director at mid-tier PE and Commercial RE firm in a small, LCOL market. Base comp is $115k, decent annual bonus but very bare benefits including zero flex/wfh allowed, no retirement, 3 weeks pto. Very relationship driven business and I’ve proved my worth. WLB is good but culture is bad and stress is through the roof as a result of ownership’s direct involvement in the business. I would like to look for other opportunities but feel I’m stuck because I live in a small job market area.

Contractor converting to permanent very soon at JPM Chase. Can anybody confirm what the benefits look like for time off and also, what time of year and how nice are the bonuses? Coming in as a VP… contract I’m making 120, but was told there would be a pay bump on conversion since they no longer have to pay the 150% or whatever it is to give the contract company their piece. I haven’t seen the comp offer yet, coming soon. I just want to start planning for budget, vacations, etc.

Got an offer from a company with OK benefits. I am also in the interview process for another company with much better benefits, work culture, work-life balance and possibility 5-10k more pay. Should I wait it out to see how it goes or take the offer?

How do I know my take home pay in NYC assuming zero 401K cont and no medical insurance and married filing jointly. I beleive it should be around 70 percent.

Looking for opinions. I’m an IW with 2 yrs experience working from home at a Fortune 500 company w/ excellent benefits, target salary 75k. I was previously offered a job at another company where the 75k salary was guaranteed for the first year. Most people make much more than this once their comp fully ramps up, but, I would have to work in the office. I declined the offer, but now the CEO wants to meet with me several months later. Would I be crazy if I asked for 100k guaranteed salary?

Hi All, I’m moving into a Corporate Development & Strategy role at the analyst level (fintech focused) I wanted to get some transparency on how much I should be asking them for comp (please let me know base and bonus)

My past experiences is I was a investments banking inter at Citigroup on the M&A team and was a Private Equity Summer Analyst at a healthcare focused fund. For the past year after i graduated I’ve been working in a rotational program that’s focused on institutional sales.

I am a CPA with 5 yoe (3yr big4 audit, 2yr industry). I’ve been having some doubts about my current role (concerned about growth and room for advancement). However, the job is firmly 9-5 and has great benefits. I currently make $150k all-in (NYC) and people on my team seem to be promoted every 2 years (bump in title and pay but not necessarily a change in their responsibilities). Am I underpaid? Should I be hustling for more growth? Thanks in advance.

I am looking to possibly make a career change in January. My second son is due soon and after my paternity leave, I would like to move to a more flexible role. I currently am in project management and am a SharePoint admin/builder. I would like a role that allows flexibility to work random and off hours as needed to be able to work around my wife's schedule so we can always have a presence with our boys. Anyone have insight to such roles?

I am beginning the process for a business data analyst position at RedHat. Any insights? Role will be closely related to SQL and Tableau. We have already briefly discussed salary and are OK with range and the benefits are profoundly better than what I’m used to. What’s the 401K matching vesting period at Citi? Is it 1 year or 3 years? The recruiter told me 1 year, but after looking at the benefits handbook, it looks like it’s 3 years.

Does anyone here do contract based work in addition to their primary finance role? If so, how much of a premium do you ask for in your hourly rate?

Note: I assume a premium is warranted given second employer/contractor won't have to pay benefits.

Thoughts on job offer for Senior Financial Analyst, private equity, pre IPO tech company in central London? Likely to IPO soonish. 73K GBP base salary, 4% employer pension contribution, ~120k USD worth of RSUs vesting over 4 years (note tech industry is going through a bad spell and that the RSUs are probably worth less right now)?

Hi all, I am currently making $160k/year and am looking at buying a $750k house 6 acres. I would put down about $300k and be able to get a mortgage at 5.5%. The property taxes and mortgage/HOA/insurance would come to about 4k/month. My paycheck deposited into the bank is ~3800 bi weekly (after health insurance/401k etc. is this wild or is this reasonable? Or somewhere in between?

I have two job offers, 1.) Low to Mid size healthcare firm, privately held, Senior Financial Analyst role working on physician compensation, $90k base, no bonus, or 2.) Temp to hire postion with McKesson, 3 to 6 month contract, high probability of leading to a full-time role as a Financial Analyst, $41 an hour, high probability of earning a senior role within a year. Base range for a full-time offer should range between 90-100k, but definitely taking a risk.

Any thoughts?

Can you rollover 401k into an IRA and take an early distribution afterwards?
