Hi! I received written offer today of a promotion into Private Banking from Retail Banking. What are some things to consider when negotiating compensation and benefits? Can I ask for company stock?

Currently in health insurance, UW in sub-100 life accounts. 3 years experience. I love where I work BUT we went remote for COVID and tea leaves suggest very few of my colleagues are ever coming back. I struggle to learn new concepts virtually…and I miss working/seeing people! Also I know I’m likely undercomped, oh well. Am wondering what skills I would want to focus on if I wanted to jump to UW elsewhere (bank/lending, other insurance types &c.). Would finishing MBA help? Thanks!

What is a comfortable salary for someone in their early 20s that still wants to go out but also build up your assets(401k, savings, brokerage etc) in NYC?

My current ROR on my 401k is -12.97% 🙃🙃. I know rates are pretty bad now, but is this lower than y'all? And any advice on how I can learn about investing wisely for my 401k?

I am having a hard time deciding if I should begin searching for a new job. My current team is great and I enjoy the work I am doing and see learning opportunities for me within my team (with a few year horizon). I have been with the company for 3+ years and received a promotion with a lower salary than market value with terrible company benefits. Do I search for a new job at market value or should I take into consideration the WFH flexibility that other companies might not offer?

Would you accept a job that offered ~50% hike over current salary? For context, I enjoy my current job and workplace - great culture, flexibility, work life balance albeit at a slower promotion path. I am very comfortable and have a good brand for myself. The new company is equally big and strong brand, but slightly less flexible (3 fixed days in office, no policy to work from outside the country for a few days etc). the role is similar function but in a different industry. Benefits are same.

took quite extensive leave (16w maternity leave plus 13w STD). My daughter had life saving surgery and both of us had to recover until I was able to go back to work. She is doing amazing now and I was happy to go back as well. Contacted my manager but he barely responded to my messages about me returning to work. (He responded only to those where I cc’ed the HR). Since I’m back (last 3 days) I scheduled two catch ups and he canceled them both. Do you think my job is in jeopardy

At what age did you start your 401k? I remember the adults in my life pushing me to immediately begin putting money away but I never did becuase I felt that it wasn't worth the immediate cost, and now I majorly regret it.

I am a woman with a degree in health services administration (which the entire degree was accounting/math/etc.) with some healthcare laws slapped in it. Decided I hated healthcare and went in to wealth management and now I am originating loans at a bank. The goal here is to eventually to become a financial analyst but am not sure how to make that jump and what would help. Any advice welcome!

Would you rather work for a company that gives $110k in base salary with $25k bonus (with 50% going to 401k) or a company that gives you $130k base salary with $5k bonus.

Why will one option be better than the other?

I work for a non-profit healthcare organization in Treasury and my main responsibilities is cash management and I have been in this role for 2 years. I feel miserable at my job, some days less than others and some days I just feel overwhelmed and undervalued. I do not get any performance based bonuses and my first year raise was only a little over 2%.. I was hoping this would be the job I would start a family in, but now I want to delay and find a better job. Should I make the move??

For those with significant others who are healthcare workers, how do they react when you are having / had a bad day? I feel like they think they have it 1000x worse (which could most certainly be true) but our job is also stressful/challenging just in a different way? Agree?

I just read somewhere that employers are reportedly spending 4% more on combined wages and benefits. I sure wish my salary reflected that change! Negotiation seems near impossible these days.

We are moving from Europe to the US and the company is fairly open to building an expat package, with initial suggestions (relocation costs, rent expense, flights home, adj salary) reasonably generous. Healthcare in there too, but not yet clear on what this entails in the US.
Any advice on what else we should think about asking for or negotiating?

Does Citi offer MRA funds (medical reimbursement account funds) similar to JPMC? E.g.: JPMC offer up to $1,000 in MRA funds if you complete some activities like wellness screening, health coaching,etc.

Got an offer externally for 100k small company 5% bonus and 2% 401k, health benefits are same, although it’s hybrid 3 days in office and a 1.5 commute one way. My current employer offered a counter of 82k 10% bonus 5% 401k match, fully remote though. What would you do in this situation? Upwards mobility is on the table at current employer but not guaranteed, at other employer doesn’t look like it will be any time soon. Thoughts ?

What was the process you went through when leaving your organization? Leaving a fin firm for consulting and this will be my first career switch. Should I talk to my manager first? HR rep first? 401k discussion? Reminding vacation days? Any discussion on this topic would be much appreciated. Also Already signed my new offer too
