What is FDD SM3 salary in NYC among the big 4?
Is $92k for a Big 4 Chicago tax manager low?
I’m surprised by how difficult it’s been to try to jump from heavy senior to manager in industry (currently b4 audit). Looking for cycle accounting, regular back office stuff. Is this due to the pandemic? I’m curious about other’s experience before and now. I’m not discounting it could be my personal experience for whatever reason.
What is the salary range for tech-strategy in Dubai (big 4 or strategy firm), 9 yoe ? TIA
I received an offer from a Big 4 but still want to have discussions with my current firm. If I accept the offer then change my mind, will I be black listed from that firm? Will that burn any opportunity for me to join them later? Is that a cardinal sin?
I personally don't believe it, but one of my recently lay-off colleague mentioned that in big 4 (especially Deloitte-KPMG) laid off people of color in their recent lay offs...Mostly Asian-south Asian, I just want to clear my head and wanted to ask this.. Thanks for your input! :(
Any associates and seniors who have recently left the B4, can you tell me how much you made at B4 and how much you left for? Can you also let me know what city you’re in and if you’re glad you left? I’m thinking of making a jump myself and I want to have a better idea of what I’m in for.
New consultant here - when people talk about Strategy & Operations, what exactly is the operations side and what do they do? Coming from the perspective of the B4 firms having the more prestigious S&O group, but also having a separate supply chain/operations group? What’s the difference between the two ops groups?
Leaving B4 to go into a small industry role (in a fund) and have flexibility on my title. Which sounds the best? Director of Finance, Director of Accounting and SEC Reporting, or Corporate Controller?
I left B4 as a senior and went to industry. Hated it and decided to take a job at top-10 firm after 2 years. The pay is on par with my industry job and the hours are a bit better than B4, but I’m thinking about jumping back to original firm or maybe a different B4. Any one else have a similar path? I hate how this will look on my resume and maybe feel a little like the grass is greener, but I think I have some good reasons.
I received an offer to work in a B4 firms NYC office but currently live in FL. Assuming I will not be relocating to NYC until Q3 of 2021, will I have to pay state tax for Q1 & Q2?
What makes a good applicant? I'm someone who will be joining a risk practice of the big 4 in 2022. What advice would you give based on your experience led to success, or weaknesses in applications?
I was a manager at b4, and moved to a F100 company as an associate for higher pay and different work. Few months in, I’m already acting as a manager on projects, and honestly feel like I’m sandbagging. Do skip promotions or fast tracks ever occur in large companies, or would I need to change jobs again for that?
Just got an offer to a Fortune 100 company in FP&A with 1 year of B4 experience. The position wanted 4-5 years and an MBA was preferred. If you want out of B4 leave whenever you want being miserable for another couple years won’t help that much!
Is 110k salary plus 30k sign on equity plus 10k each year of equity a good offer at a tech pre ipo company? Sf based and I have 2 yoe at a b4 firm. Company is my dream firm but don’t know if that comp is good for what it is. Internal strategy role
Do folks take strategy at the Big 4 + Acn seriously? Specifically curious how it impacts job prospects and MBA admissions. For context, I’m super early in my career and trying to judge how to develop my brand. I’m trying not to be too focused on brand name or anything and instead focus on growth, but want to understand the outside perception to know what I’m facing later down the line
Just signed an offer with a mid-tier coming from B4. About to put in my 2 weeks, but will they ask me to leave immediately because I’m headed to another public accounting firm?
Anyone who has left recently or is currently in the process of leaving B4: What general pointers do you have on going through recruiting/application/interview process? How technical were your interviews? What areas may be a good fit coming from an audit background? I'm an experienced manager, general CIPS experience in the mid-west. Hoping to leave after busy season.
Big 4 Fish. Which company would you say offers the best health insurance? It seems like PwC’s plans offered are mediocre at best. Is it like this across the big 4 or is PwC the odd man out here?
I’ve had 3 jobs in 3.5 years? Does that make me a job hopper? Will I really not be hirable? First 2 were at big 4’s now I’m in industry at a Fortune 50. Left for different areas, more pay, more alligned with interests, and higher titles each time. I went from Risk/Tech Consulting -> S&O/Tech -> Strategy

Should I apply for senior or manager positions? I left PA as a senior after 3.7years. I’ve been in private for almost 2 years. I’m thinking about boomerang back to PA (big 4 - I know this sounds crazy). I have additional 1.5 years of experience but in governmental accounting. Would you apply for senior or manager roles if you were in my shoes?
Out of all the big 4, KPMG seems to have the least tech focus in advisory, hardly come across them in any pursuits in digital, front office space. Do others share the same observation? any perspective is appreciated. Is KPMG trying to make moves?
I recently got promoted to Manager at a Big 4, and am conflicted on choosing one of my Recommenders. I initially reported to a Manager, who knows the finer details of my work and can provide (‘contd)
I have been trying to escape consulting for over 2 years now, but havent been able go convert the right role for me. Ive had a plethora of interviews lately. I hope that I can land something soon. My big 4 experience has been so depressing, that whenever I land an offer letter, I will most likely break down crying. I consistently dream of that day. I feel like i have been in a corporate prison. Can anybody relate?
Anyone make the jump from Big 4 accounting advisory services to an independent gig? I’ve been pondering the idea recently as a means to gain more work life balance and flexibility. I’d be okay with an occasional gig to provide a decent source of income for the family. Any insight into what you experiences have been like, where your early clients came from, things I can start doing now to set me up for LT success or other words of advice would be very appreciated.

How do the pension benefits work for partners/principals at the big 4? Can anyone share details on vesting rules or calculations? I assume it varies from firm to firm…just wanting to understand the difference with what Accenture offers MD’s (401k, VEIP).
Is there a prestige gap between the big 4 and ACN that is big enough to be worth taking a detour to the big four before exiting consulting? Depending on your perspective you might not see acn as less prestigious than say ey/pwc/kpmg but curious what people think the general perception is. (Not talking about strategy& or Parthenon)
Which Partner should you give your notice to at B4? Do you start with the highest, like region sub service line leader or just the highest you have a good relationship with, like a local or area partner? Not sure if any Partners would be offended that you didn’t tell them “first” even if you talked to them in the same day or so.
Thoughts on leaving a B4 for Mid market firm like BDO? Will my stress level/hours go down or is it just the same thing somewhere else?
Congrats to all the folks who got promoted this year! Happy for everyone but still feeling a little blue.. was really hoping to make it to the next level this year. Looking for some advice.. do I slog it out for one more year in current big 4 or do I try to jump to another firm at the next level?
Looking to switch to EY cyber as a senior consultant. How many months of big 4 cyber experience post Masters is encouraged/required for the role?
Are companies looking to hire more minorities and people who identify as LGBTQ+? I saw a post about a job listing for a Big 4 and it said it had a strong preference for people who identify as LGBTQ+ or a minority racial group. Does this mean they have a higher chance of getting the job? Not trying to start any political debates, I’m just generally curious.
Moved to D F&EP as a C at 125 last Jan from another B4. Accenture Strategy CFO&EV is offering me 130 as a C2. Worth the move? Pros: work and comp / title progression Cons: starting from scratch

How many unused vacation days did ya’ll throw away in 2017? Most of the M’s/SM’s/PPMD’s I know have saved the max and take less than two weeks each year. Wondering if this is common across the D.
As head of a division in industry, we work a lot with vendors. Increasingly I am noticing that men working at vendor firms have offer resistance when I ask for more details/invoice timings etc. I recently had a partner from a mid size firm telling me that he will be sending the invoice without phase completion. Ofcourse, I pushed back since the work is not done and it's not per contract, and he comes back asking me to be flexible. I am ex MBB, and am quite surprised at this attitude. Cont...

16 weeks and so worried all of the stress I’m under is going to hurt the baby. Between work, my own scary (non-pregnancy) health stuff, the pandemic, my mom (who is a widow and lives alone, basically isolated by choice due to covid) is having health issues, and pressures to keep billable hours up, I’ve been having complete breakdowns. Today I spent almost the entire day crying and now have to make up the billable time this weekend. I really worry abt what effect this will have on the babe.
