Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team? I'm looking for recommendations for two areas: 1) in general laying the groundwork in a startup to have the tools and especially processes in place to scale, and 2) tactical focus on building a SaaS project. I've been promoted into a management role from Dev roots, so need to learn more PM processes to be an effective manager in day job, plus would like to start building my own SaaS solution.
Interested to hear how people learn project management. I have done PRINCE2 exam and read PMP materials, but I find these are too textbook theory based. Real life projects seem to be very different and a lot more complicated. I often do not know what needs to be done unless someone tells me. I believe you can learn these things on the job, but I am keen to expedite this with some books or courses. Are there any resources that are particularly helpful?
Any book recommendations on how to work smarter not harder, particularly as it pertains to our day-to-day as management consultants?
What are some good books you would recommend for someone with an accounting background exploring a move to management consulting and strategy? No MBA.
I have done analytics and operations consulting for 9 years and I don’t like anymore. If there is even a remote chance of getting hired for product management role, I would like to take it. I am reading the books on PM and polishing my resume, are there any other things that I should keep in mind?
For people in consulting - do you often read books about project management and motivation? Would appreciate your recommendations (preferably the ones with more than one thought for the whole brick of text 🤨).

Best books about product management for a good exit to industry? I already have an MBA and PMP but looking for a refreshed perspective since it’s been years since my formal education. Currently reading “Product Managements Sacred Seven” but it’s geared toward the startup world. I am in healthcare and not looking for a startup role. TIA!!!

I just had my 90 day review and it’s wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible. I got a meeting invite in my books with my direct manager and director called HOLD - placeholder time for Friday around 3:00. Does this mean I’m getting let go?
Referrals for rookies: After a few management positions in the industry, I'm starting a Msc Business Administration in September and I'm lining myself up for a transition in consulting. Although I have a question regarding referrals. In my book a referral is someone who can actually recommend you because they know who you are, how you perform etc. Yet, I see people here asking for referrals from strangers and strangers offering referrals. Does that even work??
Books to read as a newish manager? I struggle with feeling guilty directing people to do things when they seem busy and expressing disappointment
Any good books/reads on stress management? I hate how my body produces stressful chemicals/responses on something as meaningless (to me) as work but I can't help but feel stressed all the time. Sort of like I don't care about profits/shareholder value/the project itself but feel stressed to have to produce a certain quality of work based on people's/the job's expectations
EY / EYP, do you all have a program that lets frequent flyers book business on longer domestic flights? If so, what is it called, and what is the criteria? PwC’s equivalent is the 75k program - managers and above who fly 75k/year (tracked by Concur) can book business on domestic flights over 3hrs. (They auto-extended everyone due to covid)

Any recommendations for change management (certifications, book, podcast, journal)? TIA!
I have a decent book. TV. Clever lines. Some press recognition. No major awards. (My agency hasn’t won a creative award in 10 plus years). My favorite ideas die before clients, with clients, or during pitches. In my opinion, they are more conceptual, insightful, and representative of the irreverent work I want to make. Common problem. I’m looking to move, hopefully a promo, but haven’t shown spec in years. Any recruiters/hiring managers/ECDs have a POV on including these ideas and how?
I just accepted an offer as Creative Director/Art at a small shop. What are some of your favorite books on being a great CD / manager / creative leader / mentor? Where can I get practical tips that will help me on the job?

Account ppl - hello. My role has recently become very project management and account focused. This has always been someone else's job. My role just requires many hats. I keep making small faux pas like emailing clients late (once) without considering what this looks like. There are better ways to learn than the hard way. Can you suggest any resources, books, courses, films etc that I can read up on. How to be a professional account handler type thing. Alternately, I'm in GMT and welcome zooms

I lead a team of women (ranging from 2-8 years into their careers) and want to advocate for their career growth with management. I’ve made the case for promotions and raises (have been pushing for this for months and keep being told “soon”—but I won’t give up), but I also want to try smaller asks and would love suggestions. Are there any books, one-off classes/trainings, virtual events, memberships, etc. that you’d recommend? Thank you!

Anybody have any book recommendations for general money management and investment tips? I tend to hold onto cash and am looking for a thoughtful read on building wealth. There’s a lot of options out there so anything someone found worthwhile would help me narrow it down. Thank you in advance!
Has anyone here worked on a tobacco account? I don't have much of a hangup on the product itself (users know what they're getting into, like alcohol) but I'm wondering if the work is usable in a book, or if it's taboo in the eyes of hiring managers/decision makers. Weighing whether to pursue a role ripping heaters or not...
I currently work as a marketing coordinator for a large supermarket, primarily dealing with scheduling projects and vendor management. While I love my job, I’ve found myself inspired & intrigued by my coworkers who are in strategy roles. I long to use my creative side (former designer), and I feel drawn to learn more about strategy. The problem is I have a huge lack of confidence and don’t understand where to start. Any book recommendations, general ideas for transition, or similar stories? THX!
Any book recommendations?

I have 1-2 yr AML/KYC experience at a tier two firm in NYC -- what should my salary expectation be when searching for a new job?
After your first job, how relevant is GPA. For context, I went to a school that is very well known for grade deflation (Deloitte had a “suggested” minimum of 3.2 here) and I studied statistics, a particularly rough major at the school. Long story short, GPA was between a 2.9 and 3.0. This wasn’t due to slacking and I’ve done well at Deloitte so far with plenty of experience to speak to. Would my GPA still block me from certain firms, like any of the MBB firms or a Tier 2 consulting firm?
To hr professionals in finance..I’m considering getting an online certificate through Cornell in data/analytics. Worth it or do employers think it’s equivalent to Coursera?
Hi everyone! I'm looking to leave the consulting world but don't know where to start. I live in the DMV so everything is government and/government consulting. I'm looking for a place that has an international presence that will help me expand my world view. Also looking for a place where I feel that the intersection of my race and gender is a welcoming attribute....done with the microaggressive attitudes that leads to psychological torture the consulting world has to offer.
What do folks wear to work in the Big 4, specifically D? I am joining D soon and I was wondering if I need to buy formal wear. Currently at Amazon there’s no dress code so you can wear anything appropriate to work. Of course I am referring to when we all go back to office. Deloitte
Secured 750 (Q:49, V:42) in GMAT. Targeting to apply for EMBA in 1-2 years. 9 YOE. Current role: Senior Manager. Target universities: M7, INSEAD and LBS. Question is, for GMAT exam I just focused on Q & V part, and skipped IR & AWA part (IR: 1 & AWA: 3). Now does it make sense to reattempt with a focus on other parts and risk 750 scores, or you think it’s not needed, as for EMBA’s GMAT score is not the only deciding factor and 750 score is enough for most universities irrespective of IR & AWA.
What differences have to seen between consulting and industry in regards to optics? I.E don’t tell a person you’re going on PTO it looks bad, don’t question certain persons opinion etc

Does any of the MBB have a decent-sized life science strategy consulting practice? (In my region, I seem to only see IQVIA LEK ZS getting the projects)
What to wear for zoom interviews?
Mother superannuated today and was able to watch her farewell speech. Feeling very emotional (i.e. tearing up at midday) as I recall our humble beginnings and how much my middle class family has sacrificed and achieved. My parents sent their only daughter for higher education abroad and it is tough to see them grow old. Getting exposed to so many new facets of life as a 25F…. just one of those days. Kind words only please 🙏
How hard to get the projects you want at OW? I have ZERO interest in doing insurance, risk modelS, stress tests... I want to work at OW but is there a chance I'll get stuck into a career doing these?
The lions are about to hire the D coordinator from the Patriots who just lost to the D coordinator of the Eagles who the lions fired a few years ago 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ I will never see lions SB 🙁
