Is there really anything you can do if your utilization is consistently greater than peers? I ran a utilization report and I’ve had much higher effective utilization than my peers since I got promoted to senior (ranging from 99-115% and peers are closer to 85-90%) and am reaching my burnout point as a current senior 3. I’m planning to talk to my counselor but my schedule is stacked through the end of the current year with a 9/30 client and a 12/31 client (minus planned vacation)

Anyone work for BCBS CM or Utilization review remotely? Pay similar for each? Support?

I suffer from depression. Currently on 150mg Venafaxcine. It seems my depression is worse in the day and I come alive at night. Has anyone experienced this with or without Venafaxcine?
I work remote and I'm currently on the bench. I'm worried because my utilization is low...Im trying to learn new skills and sleepy during the day it makes it hard. I don't get sleepy until 3am because I'm wired/hyped up. I don't know what to do. Without the meds, I won't be able to get out of bed...

Finally feeling an impact of the economy. My group/ firm has been hiring for 2 years non-stop, we just decided to slow down hiring. In addition, they are cracking the whip on folks not fully utilized to get them staffed. Trying to limit “weeks off” on the beach. :/.

I work in a small home care agency around 45 patients, 90 employees, including me and 4 other office staff members.

My position was office coordinator until my boys striped me of that title. But I assist with scheduling, I/T, tech support, supervising, payroll, billing, and more.

What am I actually doing? I feel over worked, over utilized, underpaid (but that's not the biggest issue) and over stimulated.

I just had a baby 4 months ago and have been at work since I came home from the hospital.

Hi. I need some advice here.

I joined my current firm about 3 month ago after completing MBA. Although I like the culture and people here, I haven't seen any client work due to firmwide low utilization. Networking led to a few meaningful internal work but I don't see any real work coming soon.

Should I reapply to firms I interviewed earlier this year (not sure if they will reconsider me this early) or wait for a year? Any other advice? Many thanks in advance.

I have a Deloitte PDM offer. I’ve read about the positives/negatives and I’m so torn. When my recruiter says I’ll have “144 hours” of PTO (18 days), will I definitely still run into the utilization trap of not being able to take it? Are all projects 40-42 hr weekly caps? Third question: I’m new in the DC area, are PDMs invited to firm socials? Trying to make friends! Thanks in advance

Does utilization matter if your deals are to blame?
There have been a few times where a lot of my hours aren't billable cause the client is slow to upload stuff, or even sometimes a deal goes pencils down. My utilization takes a big hit when I'm not busy. would I get in trouble for that?

I have two BI Engineer offers, which would you pick?
1) Big Pharma. 138 TC, 21 days PTO.
2) Big 4 consulting, 153 TC, 9 days PTO (utilization taken into account)

Joined a B4 from another B4 a year ago, and I average about 70 hours of screen time a week. I don’t log off before 11:30-midnight Monday-thursday, and it’s been this way since I’ve started. My entire team is workaholics and see no issue with this, but when comparing my utilization to my peers mine is 20-40% higher than almost everyone. My “coach” is also my engagement leader. How do I go about raising my hand that I’m beyond burnt out if I don’t feel comfortable going to my “coach”? In FDD btw

About to finish my first year. I’m a specialist. Only going to hit 65% of my hours (took a 4 week vacation cause of wedding/hm).

I never say no to work and i have fantastic reviews, and the head of my practice (with whom I work a lot for) has great things to say about me.

Guys applying for sf professional services. Was told they have utilization goals 70%. How easy is it to meet it since bonus is based on it

In the last PDM town hall, they said they were going to lower utilization targets for those that work on projects with capped hours. For those people, have you seen your utilization target lowered? I haven’t seen shit change for me.

Is a $60K base salary with a $30/billable rate or $100K flat salary better? Assuming 80-90% utilization for both. There are other variables of course, but in terms of salary alone, which would you take?

How much does utilization matter for 1st year analysts

This seems so icky, but maybe I’m overreacting. I was asked by a senior manager to bill hours to a project I didn’t work 😒we have worked together once I can tell said sr mgr is not a fan of me. Background about me , I recently switched service lines, my utilization is low despite asking for work , and I’d say I’m unhappy with the role /type of work if I’m being totally honest. What would you do if you were me ?

Where’s the line between giving your leaders the benefit of the doubt vs this pattern is pretty dang toxic? I don’t want to leave but I’m so exhausted by the gate-keeping, the self-interest of leaders lacking any kind of employee first mentality, and the lip service of “we want to make this the best place to work.” I’m being told I’m under-utilized but when I try to bring more to the table, I’m either given empty promises or immediately dismissed. - I’m severely burnt out on trust-fails.

I have worked in healthcare for almost 4 years now. I have experience in managed care, utilization management, and clinical administrator coordinator. I love my job and the pay is fair but being single and on my own it is not enough to live on and enjoy. I make about 55K and am really hoping to reach at-least a 75K+ job. I also have my Bachelors degree in Sociology! Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for jobs so I can make higher pay and actually enjoy my hard work earnings?
