What is average salary for Behavioral health utilization review positions requiring an LCSW/LPC?

I’m billed out at $195 an hour. Assuming a 40 hour workweek (lol) I’m paid a little over $36 an hour (76k/yr) My realization is about 90% and my utilization is at about 110%. When I asked if my raised could bump me to 80k instead of 76 it was implied that I was out of my mind.

What’s the discrepancy here? There’s no way this firm is adding almost $160/hr in value to my work through software, workpapers etc. I just fail to see a justification for this big of a gap.

Is this real or they are trying to be funny? 2300 hour expectation is significantly lower than industry? I was working like 1800 at 85% utilization and some people get by with 75% utilization at big 4. Crazy mf

Guidehouse Can folks in the senior ranks tell us more about the difference between the Associate Director and Director levels? What are the utilization targets for each level? What are the sales targets for each level?

Can you tell us about the organization structure? Are employees aligned to segments/markets and also solutions? Are there individuals solely dedicated to solutions? At GT we moved to more solution focused alignment and away from segments a few years ago.

Guidehouse fish - GT is doing a miserable job at giving us the brass tacks info on what to expect when we become GH employees. Can anyone share what utilization requirements are by level over at GH? How much maternity/paternity leave? PTO/FTO? Do you have an end of December firm holiday like GT does?

Is utilization common across all big 4? I’m coming from a boutique firm and curious about it. It sounds super scary to me…

like

Ok what do we make of this - started a new role, in a new service line to me, new company 4 ish months ago . The third month in I was 100% utilized super busy , learning lots , working with different folks. Now 4 months in , I ask for work - folks have nothing for me to do , I am about 20%-50% utilized, I’m not hearing negative or positive feedback , I feel as if I’m getting left out of some client meetings, I’m not getting quick or in some cases any feedback on work I do

Is EY consulting in a hiring freeze right now? Recruiter said utilization rate is low atm and they can’t make me an offer rn but will keep me posted. Considering the economy, is it likely that they will make the offer this year?

Any HR due diligence professionals - my firm is looking for a Senior Manager. Will have significant say in how the whole shop is run and no utilization minimums. Small team with a steady pipeline but looking to grow at the manager level and up. Reach out if interested. FYI: I can’t get a bonus for this because it directly benefits me. We just want good people.

like

What is your utilization rate?

My company has everyone below manager at 97% and claims that is industry standard. Agree?

I want to get my PhD, but all of the programs I want require a full time commitment for the first year. What are my options? Is a sabbatical an option? Or would I have to straight up resign? Utilization notwithstanding (I’m a GPS consultant)…is it possible to go part time? I completed my master’s full time while a full time Deloitte consultant. I know school can be done, but for PhDs they usually want you to also work as a TA. Additionally, I am not interested in online programs.

Utilization is a stupid concept. Mine dropped from 80 to 55 after taking PTO. And then the company blabbers on “don’t be afraid to take PTO!” Lol piss off

I am part of a recent acquisition in professional services at Salesforce and my role changed from people management with no utilization to billable but I’m on the bench. I wasnt looking to leave consulting and we are very slow but I’m low in the chain now and can’t do anything to grow our pipeline. Going crazy To stay busy. I know I should enjoy getting paid to hang out but I’m very anxious and getting concerned I may be laid off. Should I go to another firm or wait it out?

A lot of folks don't want to spend 12 hours a day working, especially doing busy work that doesn't get us anywhere. Sorry utilization has been low, we don't want to sit on our laptops at 6am.

Hi fellow consultants - I am working on an internal project for my company. I am hoping you can help with 3 easy questions:
1. What company do you work for?
2. From a timesheet/utilization standpoint, what does your company consider as a work week? (e.g, 40 hours, 50 hours)
3. How many hours are you expected to work in a week?

I just switched to a service line that’s more on the advisory side less compliance work. Today, I received an email about my low utilization rate. I have asked managers for work. Prior to the new fiscal year I was close to 100% Utilization each week. I’ve spoke to other colleagues who say they also have very little work to do. Yet it looks like we are still hiring. I’m not sure what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel as if the next step is to arrange a meeting with my career co?

I think the utilization metric is so flawed, yet it seems to be the number 1metric people rely to judge fdd staff. It heavily penalizes efficiency (if it takes everyone 5 hours to complete something what motivation do I have to be faster only to need to fill any saved hours with more work). Can you share any ideas on how to improve fdd metrics or perhaps share what your company does that makes performance great again.

Do all companies keep track of staff utilization and vacation, and when busy periods come by use it to overstaff/stretch you? Example: employee taken 2 weeks vacation by August, so in Q4 when things get busy they might be asked to take less vacation or more projects as they had lower utilization

Crying for my RSUs….started at my company about 6 months ago and got some RSUs split over 3 years. Turns out the stock price at time of my hiring (which is what was used to calculate the number of shares over the three years) was the highest it’s ever been. Stock price has been cut in half since then, along with my RSU value. 😭 how do I cope?
