Thoughts on having both the Amex platinum and the Amex gold?

Just got free weekend night reward from Hilton for spending so much $$ on my Amex HH card. Haven’t looked into details yet, but anyone have difficulty using this (calling and booking the room)? Are certain brands excluded? Is it easy to combine with another booking/to include on a vacation?

Newbie here. What’s the best card at the moment for a person who is expecting multiple(<6) international trips (mostly to Asia from NA) in 2021(fingers crossed). I looked into Amex Platinum but Idk if 6 trips are good enough for the steep 550$ charge. I already have a Chase sapphire preferred and discover cards and don’t actually have a preference for airlines. Would appreciate any recommendations!

I am getting x5 miles until 12/31 on Delta purchases on my Amex (delta platinum). Would there be disadvantages to buying a couple gift cards and using those to pay for future flights in 2021? Do I still get the MQDs if I use a gift card to pay for a flight linked to my Skymiles Account? What am I potentially not considering?

Thoughts on Chase Sapphire Reserve vs Amex Platinum for when travel resumes?

Worth it to pay the 550/year for the Amex corporate platinum once travel resumes? Looks like all the point multipliers are stripped compared to the normal platinum so my initial thought is it’s not worth it

Those 🐠 with AMEX Gold/Plat - what did you use your airline credit on this year? Bonus points for unofficial uses (on AA) since I still have my full credit and no plans to fly in the next two weeks.

About to make a large villa rental transaction. I have the Bonvoy Brilliant AMEX (the higher end one $450/year) and my brother has AMEX platinum. Any reason why to use one over the other (aside from points)? Can’t find a difference in travel benefits

I was a loyal Amex SPG cardholder that migrated to Amex Bonvoy ($450 annual fee - which is really $150 after the $300 Marriott spend credit) ... we charge all personal expenses to this card (over $75K/yr). I feel that Bonvoy Platinum Elite status and a free night per year are nice, but are there better cards that have better rewards? Our other card is Costco Visa (for Costco purchases or for places that don’t accept Amex).

I had a couple of months where I didn’t realize I had a personal payment I needed to make on the corp Amex card so my points were forfeited as I had overdue balance. They say they will redeem one month of the forfeited points but $35 /month for the others. Anyone had any success getting points back for free?

Thoughts on switching from CSR and Amex platinum? I currently have CSR with 100kish point, I want to transfer that to Hyatt, switch to chase freedom then apply for the Amex platinum for the bonus. Good idea? Biggest expense is good/grocery
