Found out my ecd is a flat-earther. Anyone in NYC hiring? I need a new job this week.

If your agency is not diverse, these are some reasons why: • Internships (either hosting interns, or using internships as a prerequisite) • Degree requirements (either mandating a degree, or hiring based on any unrelated degree just for the sake of having one) • Only young, white recruiters (especially those without bias training)

I feel burnt out and want to leave my job (have felt this for months now) but right now probably isn’t a good time to do that. Since my agency had layoffs, they are expecting me to take on a lot of the work left behind. Any advice or suggestions on keeping my sanity? I feel suffocated staying in my current role and want to cry at the thought of doing more work for the agency. I feel like I have no choice unless I’m willing to be unemployed :(

I’m, technically, a Jr but being paid as a Mid because I had a great mentor who believed in me. I’m now moving on to an actual Mid role but have no idea if I should ask for a higher salary because if I do, I’ll basically be asking for close to a Sr Creative’s salary. At the same time, I don’t want to seem like I can be taken advantage of or a pushover if I don’t ask for more. Any advice on how I can navigate this?

Pre-COVID you were promised a raise to come in June to accompany the smaller raise and promotion you got in January. Now, your company is like every other company - combating layoffs and going through raise and hiring freezes; which makes the opportunity for that raise look pretty impossible. The thing is, the job you’re doing is at least two levels above what your promotion brought you to and you feel like you’re doing twice the work for half the pay. What do you do?

Our head of new business left and I’ve inherited their role - does anyone have any advice on new biz? I hadn’t really considered it as a path for me (I just assumed I’d progress through account management levels). It’s a tough time to be in new biz so any guidance would be appreciated!

After 1.5 years of being an assistant planner, I’m being asked to interview for the same role on another team within the same company or be furloughed. Is it crazy to ask for higher compensation or just take what I can get and be happy that I’m working ?

I’m not as passionate about my role as an AAE as when I first started and it’s a couple months before my 1 year. I’m really thinking of making a switch in roles after, but I obviously want to maintain the mindset at excelling at my current role so that I leave on a good note. Any advise on how to let my supervisors know that I’m thinking of leaving? Definitely looking to make a change by the end of the year. I’m a people pleaser and it’s my first job out of college so just stressed the approach

So I graduated in March. Still jobless. People tell me not to worry, that no one is hiring right now. But I see people who graduated getting jobs (and at really good places). I don’t know what to do. I’m conflicted to reach out to recruiters because I know they’re probably busy, but at the same time I don’t want to wait too long...
