We have a couple of producers who recently have been testing the account management waters but their motivation is for the pay, and simply put, they are failing the role. However, our agency is growing and we need their bodies to pick up lose ends but it still just creates more work for myself and my equal who are trying to continue building. Plenty of training, and warnings with no change in performance, we are headed the direction that encourages them to self select. Thoughts/ideas?

When a recruiter just doesn't reply when you are a perfect fit for the role as described, what's going on in their heads?

Some things never change. Recruiter comes in hot. Needs to fill role FAST. Rush through meeting everyone and everything. Then disappears for over 2 weeks. Go figure.

I’ve been in my junior role for 1 year and my manager keeps stringing my promotion along ( “we’ll look into one next year).. is it time to look else where? How long did you spend at first job?

Seems like the leverage in the industry for remote only is starting to swing back. And I know that at least from the Big 4, that hiring remote is a last resort (pushing for a cities with offices). How is everyone feeling about it? Will it stand? I work at an agency with no office where I live so im grandfathered in, but will also affect any future prospects if remote goes back to pre-pandemic acceptance levels.

Been interviewing a couple of people for a Jr/Mid role and have been coming across quite a few who proactively position themselves as just “Creatives” who don’t want to get involved in actually crafting the work. Not sure how everyone else feels but to me, your first few years in the industry should be about mastering your craft as much as humanly possible. You just don’t have the experience to critique ideas properly before you’ve learnt how to write and design a good one on your own 🫠

I wad hired as a partner to someone who had already been working there a few months prior. Seemed like a really good match initially and they pulled for me in the hiring process. Now that we’re working together things aren’t going so well and others have noticed. Not happy in my current role. Projects have been canceled or postponed left and right, I’m not getting to do the work that I was hired for. Been here for nearly a year now and have little work to show for it. Talking to management doesn’t help, I essentially get told to “hang tight”.

Graduated in 2020, wanted to be a graphic designer, took a job at a startup in a social media role. The boss called me the "r" word for not handling entire 13-ish accounts roster well by myself. Career transition: creative to PM

Been a CW at a couple of different agencies for about 3.5 years now and have lately sussed out that I don't really want to be a writer my whole life. In my current role I do some project management and find that satisfying. So much so that I'm thinking about doing some certifications and pursuing PM as a career.

Wondering if others have witnessed a similar transition; I'd like to stay in the marketing space and apply my experience in a different role.

Interviewing for an account executive position at a marketing agency and they are asking for a salary range following my initial interview. I was making $62k at my last job which seemed severely underpaid, especially in Los Angeles. I would be fine with $85k but would definitely be more comfortable with around $92k. Does anyone have insight of what the best response of a salary range would be?

I don’t want to under ask but I don’t want to lose the opportunity by asking for too much.

Was told there is not enough work and laid off. 3 months later there is a cd position posted on linked in. Is asking for feedback and transparency so I can learn for it too much to expect?

Is it just me but are recruiters/hiring managers updating job postings to include salary range since this became the law? I've had to withdraw some applications because postings are being updated. I'm happy for the insight but kind of bummed that a few jobs I've been interested in, won't work for me after all.
