What’re some agencies that are hiring fully remote?

Started a new mid-level role, but not sure if it’s a right fit — I’ve been getting work; however, I’m bored to tears. How long does this feeling usually last when at a new job?

Has anybody landed a position from myworkdayjobs? I’ve applied for numerous positions through the portal without any referral, thinking they are legit. I’m doubting my choices now 🤔

Actually found a role that is half way decent on creative circle but recruiter won’t respond to my emails. Is it too far to call the regional office and try to get ahold of them that way?

For people in-house, what’s the difference between a comms and a marketing role?

Job postings in New York State now require employers to include salary ranges. It’s already been pointed out that companies are listing ridiculously large spreads (sometimes as large as six figures). I don’t know the rules and regs around this, but I suspect there’s a degree of low-balling going on. Saw an in-house CD role for a major corporation today that supposedly topped out at $110K, for example.

Please help! Need a good immigrantion attorney recommendation in SF area. Long story short: my current company lied about visa application when I signed on a contract. Now my visa status is tied to this company only. This changed my status in US meaning I need to leave US within 60 days if my role gets terminated. I did not agree this condition and the company proceeded it without acknowledging it.

I’m an Account Supervisor with 9 years experience in both strategy and account (been playing a dual role my entire career). I’m now fully switching focus over to strategy and have the opportunity to negotiate title & salary. Any advice/recommendations from someone that’s made a similar jump? Making the move because it’s what my agency needs (and what I want) but I’m doing so at a time when Im very close to being promoted from Account Sup > Account Director. What’s a comparable strategy title?

What’s the salary expectation for a senior art director position at a large agency in Chicago?

Recently interviewed for a role with a new agency and made it through the final round before the recruiter asked me to share references. While usually a positive sign, I was informed that they wouldn’t be able to extend an offer my way at this time. This one is a first for me, but would you say this is common within our industry? To receive nothing but positive feedback throughout the process only to be informed that they wouldn’t be moving forward feels like a waste of two months.

To the few people who made an early-career switch from strategy to creative, what route did you take? I have an education + work experience in design w/ some AD sprinkled in ––friends at bigger agencies have said my technical skills are on par w their junior ADs, but I know my book isn't.

Wondering the best path to take here. Do get a strategy role at a place I really want to be, then try to pivot into an AD role, or do just pay my dues and go to ad school? Trying to be realistic here

Currently at a small agency no one has really heard of, with solid opportunity to grow, can get promoted in another 6ish months to a year to a role making roughly 80k. If I get an offer for a lower position from one of the more well-known agencies, should I take it? The bigger agency pays better as a whole, but again, I’d be going one spot lower on the totem pole. If I get promoted there in a year I’d be making around 70, but my resume would “look” better in theory. What would you do?

interviewing for a senior copywriter role, and found out the salary is lower than average (85-90K) because they offer bonuses and equity. is this something you’d consider? or should I still try to negotiate base salary?

I applied for a brand side role as an Associate Director. The responsibilities in the job description seem fairly senior and the listed salary band is 112-222k based on seniority. As I have over 12 years experience, I would expect to get on the higher end. However, the recruiter told me the budget for the role was 130k, which seems absurd. Has anyone seen such a huge discrepancy in posted salary band and the actual number stated by the recruiter? What is the best way to address the discrepancy?

When I got the green light to go remote I moved from NYC to a city without much of an ad scene bc it made sense for my family. But I still want to grow in my career. I don’t plan on staying at the same shop forever, but the more I read about remote ending, the more scared I get about what/where my next role will be.

My biggest hold up in accepting is that I think I’d have to move to Portland. (Dumb? Maybe.) Help.

Let’s say you were interviewing for a global client lead role - at the holding co level - for one of WPP, Omnicom or IPG.

What questions would you ask in the interview phase?
What concerns would you have?
If you had your pick of essentially the same role at all three of those holding companies which would you pick? Or not pick?

Challenge: can you guess the salary of an in-house director/editor at a top-3 agency?

I am interviewing for this role and am unsure what industry standard is for this fairly unconventional job. Duties include directing spots for major clients (pharma, cars, etc) and editing most of my own work.

Is there an industry standard for this role?

I recently turned down a job offer from an affiliate marketing agency because I want to wait for large bonuses that are coming over the next 5 months. I explained to the agency that the money was a little too much to pass up (I have to support my family). They said they understand and to keep in touch.

Do you think that the agency would hire me if I reached out to them again in March? I know they are hiring now, but I believe the economy will be different in March.

Anyone else have recruiters reach out to say a role you’ve been interviewing for has been out on hold due until client budget forecasting for next year has been figured out? Assume they’re telling the truth but not entirely sure whether it is or in some cases if they’re just saying that as a soft way out for hiring someone else.

I am a strategist with a creative soul. Has anyone ever done the jump from strategy/ planning to creative? I have a creative brand strategy background with some experience copywriting. As an associate director I don’t want to digress in my career but am learning I am more interested and excited by coming up with big creative ideas then writing briefs. Every time I sit in a creative review I question my role in strategy. Any advice?

Questions for those hiring creators from the various creator marketplaces (Instagram, TikTok, etc). Who do you task with selecting and managing those creators? Communication, agreeing to terms, collecting feedback, etc? Creatives? Producers? Strategy? Account? What do your teams look like?

I have 0 ambition to have a role any higher than CD. Seems like too much of a sacrifice, no gcd or ecd seems to have a good w/l balance. Is it possible to survive in this industry as CD forever ?
