Hi, how much a Junior Art Director in a big network should be making? What's the curve like from his first year to fourth year? If he would to jump to a mid-w position, how much should he ask for?
Wondering how much you guys make for a senior associate position in an ad agency or in house? Would be super helpful to include your job title and company!
I’m a designer trying to be an art director.(for a change of pace) I’m not sure I want to do creative things at all anymore though. Has anyone here switched to a non-creative role, job, or career?
I’m watching the creativity awards on ad age. I decided to take a shot everytime I see a POC nominated. So its been 35 minutes and I have only seen one. But that wasn’t even the surprising part. When they went to the Inclusion award that’s when I just started laughing at the amount of Karen’s and Micheals in position. Not one person with a shade of color was in the category lol 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Art director curious about the transition from advertising to branding and a true designer role. Any tips / thoughts / opinions? Grad school? Any expertise, experiences, or opinions appreciated 🙏🏼
Does anyone know the salary for a sales planner/person that helps the sales team with RFPs at a ad tech company? Or what this position is even called in the industry?
I know this is a bit of a long shot considering the circumstances, but does anyone know any ad agencies hiring junior copywriters in the Vancouver area?
How does a project manager role (in industry) look in the eyes of an MBA Ad Comm?? Is it comparable in “prestige” to something like big 4 consulting? Any thoughts on this would be helpful.

Is it hard to switch from Designer to Art Director? I just got offered a Junior Designer role and don’t know if this will mess up my chances of being an Art Director down the line
Morning Bowlers: I am looking for a mid/senior writer in San Francisco for an in-house role, financial services, strong digital, social, DM experience ideal. Have an AD partner? Even better.
I currently work at a very large PR agency and am trying to move up into an AD role. Any advice here, other than talking to my manager?
Re: my resume: How should I position the freelance that my art director partner and I work on together? The nature of it is a lot more conceptual and more brand building-y than the freelance that I've worked on solo. Should we create a company name to file it under? Or should I put it under my other freelance work?
Any agency looking for a Freelance Sr. AD or FT? I know with this virus there might be a hiring freeze, but I figured it doesn’t hurt to ask and to help a friend.
as a junior art director how can i find a job in another city? specifically looking at the west coast - i feel like it’s hard to position myself as a possible candidate even though i have some good talent. I’ve joined the league of Covid layoffs. I was in an Art Director role with an experiential agency. I’d love to move into a more strategy focused role next — any advice on how best to pivot?
I currently work full-time at an ad agency making $40k a yr in an entry-level role; however, I am now in the late interview stages w/ a major tech company who is offering $85k but for a contract role w/ no guarantee of hire since I would be covering someone’s temporary leave. I really want to work in music but I am iffy on leaving a full-time job for a contact. Is it ever a good idea to jump ship for a contract job or should I just wait for a full-time role to open up?
If I put a TVC in my book (as an art director), what are the general assumptions of my role in the project? Are art directors usually supposed to handle set design and stuff in addition to concepting it? Should I be specific in my book as to what parts I did or didn’t do or leave that to when people ask in interviews?
Hey all - I currently work as PM at a NY agency. However, I went to school in Boston and my partner is from the North Shore. We’re thinking about making the move back to Boston early next year. Does anyone have an insight into the ad industry in Boston? What’s it like? Are agencies hiring? How’s the culture? If anyone has worked in NY as well I’d love to hear about how the two cities are different from an ad industry perspective.
Do you think having planning/strategy comms experience helps with ad creative/concepting role later down the track? 🤔
Might be starting at a small agency as a full time Junior AD soon, fingers crossed. It's my first full time position since WFH began. Other ADs who have transitioned to WFH, what equipment do I absolutely need in my at home workspace? And how should I bring it up? Thanks in advance! I currently have a 2015 MacBook Pro that’s running on fumes. An Wacom Intuos Pro. A mouse. A few external hard drives. And a second screen.
Anyone have a recent ad salaries survey they can share? Or a Planning Salary Survey that still hasn’t been shared publicly yet? Worked to the bone and underpaid ($120k as a strategy director with 10 years exp in Toronto, before a covid pay cut), and since no one seems to be hiring planners atm, trying my best to get paid (at least closer to) what I’m worth and any evidence of salary bands per title helps. Thanks
Anyone have a recent Canadian ad salaries survey they can share? Or the APG Canada Salary Survey that still hasn’t been shared publicly yet? Worked to the bone and underpaid, and since no one seems to be hiring planners atm, trying my best to get paid (at least closer to) what I’m worth and any evidence of salary bands per title helps. Thanks
Who here thinks consulting slides are a lot of bs? I come from a technical role in industry, and it certainly feels that way.
Need honest opinion from 🐠. Background: previously a big four consultant in tech consulting. Didn’t like the tech implementation work at all and needed to pivot. After obtaining my masters in data science, I landed a good role that actually uses what I’ve learned. However, this role also made me realize that data science (at least in this organization) has a very low ceiling, and is also highly on the technical side. I see myself eventually wanting to move to leadership/management positions.
Considering applying to a role at ZS Associates. Can someone enlighten me about the firm culture compared to Big 4? This would be for financial services vertical.
Does anyone have advice on lateraling pre-MBA? Looking to switch areas (tech -> strat & federal -> any other industry) and want to maximize exit chances. MBA isn't a viable option at this point.
"We're in a hiring freeze." Lobby TV: WELCOME NEW HIRES! ...Anyone feel like "hiring freeze" is as real as "promotion"? When do we get paid though... 😭
We recently had several people promoted to manager with less than 3 years consulting / overall work experience - I personally feel this is too little for a Manager role, what are your thoughts?
Have an upcoming interview with FAANG PMM. Anyone have a crash course they’d recommend? Applied for the position but have little knowledge on product marketing.
Take the Easy associate job that pays more with great brand name, great pay, great benefits, seemingly good manager, but the role isn’t what you want and isn’t as good of a stepping stone OR the difficult manager role that has great role, high impact, helps you learn, good skill development, average benefits, good pay (but not crazy outstanding), solid brand name BUT you don’t know the team/manager well & pay/benefits isn’t as high as the first
In the last month I failed at couple of Prod Mgmt interviews (one at the FAANG).Trying to see what I can do to improve my candidature.checking how ppl made successful switch from consulting to PM role
Some of these posts are ridiculous. They’re like just exited consulting to FAANG/Niche Startup with $150k base and $400k TC with 6 months of experience, you can do it too! Then they ghost or explain that they are a former SWE 😬 coming from MBB. Going to some super Niche role that people with crazy backgrounds are recruited for. Congrats, but not everyone has that background
Didn’t even score an interview for a role at a startup I applied for (would’ve been 30%+ pay cut too) lol at this rate, I’m stuck in finance forever
Anyone looking for Product Managers in DC? Currently in a Product Manager role but it looks like I need to jump.
So recruiter reached out & I feel like he kinda gave me a feeling that he comes from a position above. I’m like, come on, you reached out to me for a position so please be humble when talking to me.
Which agencies are hiring right now? I know a lot of layoffs are happening but just curious to see who's looking for new people.
What sort of exit opportunities do people focus on/target from “digital” consulting? Given set skillset (which what?), can it be industry agnostic as well?
I have someone that I want to refer to the firm. How does the process work, and does the referral have to be for the same city that I'm in?
Is it possible to go through the interview process for 2 different positions at EY at the same time (Treasury and Supply Chain) or do I need to pick one? I’m assuming the answer is i have to pick one.
Got laid off my full time AD job & trying to pick up freelance but I’m very new to this... Any advice for calculating hourly rates?? What’s an average range? (For reference: was making ~$75k in NYC)
It makes my heart full to hear the huge applause passengers give when FAs thank the service men on the flight! Happy early Veterans Day, FB fam!
