Was just asked by the recruiter at a small LA agency I've been interviewing at to send my desired salary. It's a (mid-level) Copywriter position. What's a reasonable ask? Is it best to give a range?

Interviewing for a copywriter role in the marketing division of a tv network. Are jeans not okay? Unsure whether or not agency rules apply.

How was everyone really hired? Creatives. Rarely see job listings on linked in for CW or AD. Seems like hiring is underground.

Big name agency, $$$, but the position could veer you from goals of being a copywriter. If this is you, do you take it or go with a creative internship/residency for much less money?

What kinds of behavioral questions should I be prepared for in a second & final round interview for an Associate Copywriter role at an ad agency? I am also doing a presentation on two writing samples.

Wondering: what’s a good salary range for a copywriter with 10 years experience? Not at a senior role, but a manager. Curious; Lmk salary range and location (if applicable, since I know that can sometimes play a role). TIA!

A big tech/creative conundrum!

Copywriter w/ a decade of big name agency work, few awards but no lions or pencils. Making decent salary and decent work. Fairly happy but worried about balancing kids/money/work next year.

Have a great offer for a copy role at Facebook (salary, benefits and stock are amazing and way above what I could ever earn at an agency).

Would this effectively be my forever exit from the agency world? Ive heard once you leave you can’t come back. Any experience with this?

I'm a Sr. copywriter getting underpaid at a network agency. I've been talking to recruiters, and it seems like I could get a 25% raise if I seriously applied myself and made a lateral move - most likely to an indy.

However, my current agency has been explicit about training me to be an ACD. They love my work and make no bones about saying that they see me in that kind of role.

What would you do?

I've been approached by another agency for an open senior copywriter position. I don't want the job currently (happy where I am) but would like to connect with the CD and stay on their radar.

Should I be up front and say I'm not interested in this role but still keen to grab a coffee? Or lead them on a little bit and then say it's not right for me at the moment?

How hard is it to get an entry level role as an Integrated Producer in a bigger ciry? I'm a copywriter currently working as a Digital Editor for a magazine with about 5 years of experience (some in the US, some abroad) and writing has burnt me out. How does your agency structure its Engagement/Activation/Digital Strategy dept, as far as titles/roles go? It doesn't seem as defined as other depts and, from what I can tell, it also isn't uniform across agencies. For example, in our Copy dept, the succession is:

Thoughts on pursuing a new role at another agency when you might be on the verge of being promoted into the same role at your current one? I wasn’t really looking but a former coworker mentioned my name at the potential new agency for a Copywriter position (currently Associate CW). I’ve been at this level for over a year and feel like the promotion is on the horizon, so I’m not sure if it’s worth making the move now if the other agency’s offer is equivalent

What are the differences and similarities of copywriting at an ad agency vs. a branding agency?
The reason I ask: I feel unfulfilled in my current role as a direct-response copywriter at a tech company and am thinking through next steps. I crave coming up with creative ideas and concepting with a close-knit team. I also appreciate brand strategy (I started as a junior strategist at an agency before realizing I belong on the other side of the brief).
