I’m curious how long everyone worked as a senior creative before getting their first ACD role. I imagine there is quite a range, but want to find the ballpark. Bonus points for sharing your starting ACD salary if it’s recent enough to still mean anything.

Seeking advice. I work in fashion as a Creative Producer and I'm looking to transition to a PM or Digital Producer role with an AD agency to get more experience. I haven't been able to land a PM role because I'm lacking agency experience and no one seems to want to train a newbie. Should I take a pay cut (possibly entry level role) for an opportunity to get the digital experience I need? Would love some feedback!

As an agency creative, what position should you ideally reach before transferring to brand side?

I came over from consumer a year-ish ago and in that time I’ve gained valuable experience that makes me a great pharma creative. Why are hiring CDs suddenly preoccupied with only hiring people over from consumer “while they can”?

what to do? i’m reviewing a lot of junior creative books right now (not necessarily hiring). i’m trying to give non-portfolio school creatives a chance, but the best ones (but not all the best) are from portfolio schools.

i know the work should speak for itself, but i also want to support those that can’t pay $100k+ for portfolio schools.

I applied for job and followed up with the recruiter to ✨stand out✨ lol. One of my dream creative teams on paper. They said they pulled the position for now, but if I want to still talk about the team/ get to know more about the agency, then they’re available. Im really excited about this. This seems like an opportunity to be more than just a name on paper when a job opens again. I have some ideas, but knowing there’s no immediate job on the table, what sort of questions would you ask?

Grew up without a lot. Worked my ass off to get a good education and a high paying job. Now I’m extremely unhappy with the job after ~3 YOE. Suffering from depression. I’d like to start over as a video producer (entry level position with a 60% paycut). I’m a creative person, I can’t imagine doing “corporate/business” roles for the rest of my life. Scared if I make the transition I’ll be unhappy again but with less pay. So conflicted.

My challenge to everyone of you. Every leader, every future leader, everybody who will lead this industry one day: when we get back to normal, whatever that will look like, get personally involved again with recruiting, hiring and mentoring. DO NOT leave personnel decisions to HR, alone. DO Not rely on the parasitic temp agencies like creative circle and Aquent to do all the work. Get involved. Give a damn. A creative leader saw value in me, l assume someone saw value in you too. Pay it forward.

Looking for a new role leading a PM and/or ops team. I'm an agency (media & creative) vet - depth in digital, crm, creative, tech, data, & process dev/deploy.

Have also worked ~4 years transforming / running ops at Kimbery-Clark's Digital COE and ~a year on web & digital projects at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Do IH agencies have substantial PM teams / need for leadsrship? I know many need operations & process enhancement.

Any specific roles on anyone's radar?

Are art directors in charge of the creative strategy or is that the CD’s role?

I’m curious about salaries for brand side CD roles? I’m talking about roles where you lead all creative for a brand, maybe you are building an internal agency, and the role is global or has that potential. I think salaries from NYC, LA, SF and Chicago would be most relevant. I appreciate anyone who’s willing to share!
