Tips on landing a Data Scientist role? Background BS CS, MS Stats >1yoe

To the Data Scientists out there!

How much would you say is a fair base salary for Entry Level Data Scientist position for a candidate with MS in Applied Econ and proven skills in Python SQL and ML with 0-1 years of DS experience? Mainly in the San Fran / Bay Area . The info on Glassdoor seems high and while I do have a portfolio and will have internship experience before I finish my program, I am still unsure how much I should be asking in terms of salary! Please share your conservative estim

Title question: Recently I applied to a Senior Data Scientist role, however the title when HR reached out was Senior Analyst, Data Science. They do refer to it as a data scientist, so my question is: is that how it normally is- the title is “analyst”, “manager”, etc and the team is Data Science?

Goal is to end up in tech but am interviewing for a fortune 50 healthcare company for a data scientist role. Struck out on other interviews.

Would it be worth it to jump to this if I want to break into data science or should I stick it out in D&A consulting which really isn’t data science?

No idea on compensation other than that they are interviewing me with the tc range I requested. A FAANG is also interviewing me but not for a DS Role

1 YOE accepted a job offer as a data scientist at one of the big 4 a month ago for 108TC . My start date is Jan 3rd and I just received another offer from a tiny consulting firm for a ML consultant role for 120 TC fully remote. Is it worth reneging offer for?

Any advice on how to negotiate salary for my next role? I am currently at $120k TC as a data scientist at Accenture. I am interviewing at some startups now but I am not sure how I should approach salary negotiation. I have about 10 years of domain knowledge for this particular area. I have about 1.5 years of data science experience. What sort of compensation package should I aim for?

Am I being stupid?

Since 2018 I've worked 3 jobs. Bouncing around from banking and consulting. At each job I've been in the role of a data scientist and or engineer.

Another offer has fallen into my lap. (I didn't apply, an old professor recommended me. After a few convos they offered me) I was offered with a 25% bump, better benefits, and better WLB.

With my record of bouncing around, would this be dumb for me to take? I've been at Deloitte just shy of 1 year.

Do you think being a data analyst in industry or data scientist at big 4 would help more getting to a MMANG data scientist role?

What would you do if you were in my shoes? I am pretty undecided with my career but have been on a bunch of analytics projects as a big4 consultant (2 YOE).

I am currently in final rounds with a data scientist position at a b2b tech company. company sounds great but it's not as big and well known as say, FAANG.

Is Data Scientist at Deloitte a good move if my goal is short-term experience building (2-3 yrs) while looking for another move to a better WLB company?

4 YOE in Analytics, but feel like I've missed out on certain soft skills (ex: prioritizing, presenting, managing client expectations, etc) not being in a consulting role + I've plateau'd with basic analytics hence the move for DS.
