Have my 6 month review coming up - how do I politely speak to my mind to my bosses about role not being what it was advertised as? Pretty much just moving things around on PowerPoint for meeting preparation (have prior experience leading client meetings, but have yet to even have the opportunity to sit in on one at new firm). No matter how hard I push for on the job learning opportunities, they have been negligible. Is it better to be blunt vs quiet quitting or actually quitting?

I went through two rounds of interviews for
a job that the posting stated $36.66 per
hour (FP&A Analyst)…the company
recruiter had told me in the initial call the
pay could be 32-36 because of the other
benefits. If I do get a job offer what range
should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they
may try to offer lower than what was
posted. Also there was no range but the
average for this position is upper 70s-90k.

Trying to secure an IC position at Fidelity in Florida, any help?

I currently work for a private automotive services company with a little over 6,000 employees. I am in the treasury department working as a analyst and I am thinking of joining Fp & a as a financial analyst. I like the position/team but I am underpaid. I have nearly two years of experience in Treasury and I have a Mba in management from a smaller university. I wanted to know how much I should be compensated and if it is a wise move to go to FP & A. Also, the position is located in South Jersey.

Need advise, please! I’m in the JPN with a senior FA. Senior FA does not consider teaming up. After much consideration, decided to look for opportunities elsewhere. I’m considering Wells Fargo FA role in the branch where premier bankers provide referrals. I have 7 years of experience. Will the move be a good idea to jump from Morgan Stanley to Wells Fargo? Can anyone at Wells Fargo branch FA share their experience? Do you really get a lot of referrals to help grow your business as they say? TY

I love working with clients and feel I do a great job on the planning side, but don’t love the sales. Does anyone know of any openings out there? Chicago area for reference.

Any one had experience with Wells Fargo premier banker role or Financial Solutions advisor with BOA. Seems to be very similar. Wells base is higher but seems more upside for comp with BOA? Any feedback on either would be greatly appreciated.

Currently have 6.5YOE as an FA bringing in business, but would prefer to be in more of a planning role.

25yo, recently have interviewed with an asset manager, JH to be exact, for a project management assistance role. While I do desire to work for this company, longer term I want to make a transit and jump into tech focused PE fund. Anyone has thoughts on the how this jump would be looked at by recruiters, what transferable skills would be practically applicable and would this transition makes sense in your eyes ?

Best places to be a financial advisor and have a solid salary (over 90k) with 2 years of experience, with S7, S66, and life insurance license? I’m commission only 1099 role since the start and have done well, just exhausted from the constant hunt for activity on the calendar.

I’ve got my 7, 66, CFP, and CIMA with roughly 3.5 years industry experience. I started a new role at the paraplanner level… is this a bit of an undersell? Or is that along the industry timeline?

I am looking to add a third advisor to my practice in central Texas to help with relationship management and work with some of the clients that are currently not receiving the level of service needed due to capacity issues. The role would not have to include prospecting. Series 7 and 66 would be required, and prefer someone that could work in the office part or most of the time. I would consider a virtual advisor if the person was a great fit. Anyone interested in exploring further?

Been in the financial services industry for seven years now, currently at Citi Private Bank as an associate banker and considering moving over to Fidelity for a financial consultant role.


Feel like Citi lowballed me on my base but at Fidelity my base and the additional comp they give is only guaranteed for the first year and after it drops to base and a variable structure but the potential to outpace my total comp at Citi I believe.

Any advice on a decision like this?

Im looking for insight regarding the role of Planning Consultant at Fidelity. What does the day consist of as well as best aspects of the role and most challenging. I’ve been in the financial services industry for 20yrs Registered series 7 and 66. Completed my CFP coursework a few years ago. Recently ordered Dalton review materials in order to study for the exam. Thanks.

Looking to pivot back to investment finance (worked for Vanguard) from lending. Licenses have expired. Are there any companies recommended that would allow someone to get relicensed? I am not looking for a cold calling role, but companies like Vanguard/Fidelity pay painfully low.

Looking to transfer into a client associate role (unregistered at the moment, but willing to obtain). Currently have ~1.5 YOE in valuation (financial statement analysis, modeling, etc.) I get that those skills could be unrelated to a CSA role, but I think there could be some similarities. Does anyone happen to have a referral or can anyone give DM me some insight into what a CSA role would look like? I appreciate it.

Is there any benefits from hiring a financial advisor in a young age? I’m 26 and I’m not sure I’m picking the right investment for retirements accounts etc.

Currently looking at a sales manager role for a national firm here in Canada. Essentially the recruiting advisors to the firm and then helping them succeed. Recruiting experienced and new.

Pros and cons of this role

I am currently stuck between two job positions, one with Merrill making $85k base and big corp benefits and another for an RIA for $65k and no benefits like healthcare and 401k. I really like the RIA position better but other comparable positions in the area range from $45-$60k so it doesn’t seem like strong numbers to negotiate. Should I chose ML for the salary/benefits security— Anyone have insights? Worried of being a new higher compensated employee with a potential recession on the horizon..

In process of transitioning. Currently an FA under a b/d similar to EJ model and have 8yrs of experience. I’ve contemplated going completely independent and I’m not oppose to that but a little nervous to make the jump. LPL and Cetera have reached out regarding me potentially joining an RIA. And now I have an offer on the table for a bank advisor role with a credit union. I’m unsure of which route I should go and want to see if others have experienced this decision? Thoughts?

Looking to start my career in a FA role. I’ve been in banking for several years and have been licensed for more than two. Since becoming licensed, my role was to find assets and then refer to FA for them to close the deal. Boa/ML has made me an offer for a financial solution advisor. Without any context seems fair, but I’d like to get y’all’s opinion as professionals in the industry. 70K Base+comp based on production (aquisitions+retention).
