Advice needed: looking to leave public accounting and tax for good. I have two offers between a financial analyst and an accountant role. Based on your experience, which of the two has the best/better exit opportunities (should I decide to pursue the finance realm or something else) and better work life balance? The bigger pay as an analyst is tempting, but the company benefits are meh.
Thoughts on financial analyst in boutique REIT firm as an exit option? I should only take this role if I want LT career in real estate right?
I'm applying/attending job interviews for financial analyst type roles in industry from Big4. I don't really have an industry that I'm really passionate about. I'm paranoid that I'll exit and get stuck in a specific industry. Did any of you have issues moving between industries? How did you manage to be competitive or overcome that issue when changing industries? Thanks!
I see job posts from consulting firms looking for senior analysts/associates and the requirements are calling for 1-3 years of investment banking experience. Specific example: guidehouse has a “financial analyst - senior consultant” position available on LinkedIn calling for 1-3 years IB. This has got to be a dream requirement right? Do IB analysts making $150k+ really leave to make half? Just seems like these positions would never get filled to me
What are the exit opportunities for finance transformation consulting (shared service, process improvement, etc)? I want to do customer success or product strategy, but having a hard time getting interviews. Thought about starting from product finance, but they are looking for financial analyst or FP&A type of experience 🤦♂️

I’m currently a staff accountant but I’d like to make the pivot to a financial analyst/FP&A type role in the future. What are some ways I could frame staff accountant duties on a resume for analyst applications? Obviously my variance analysis and preparation of budget items are good starting points, but does anyone have thoughts on this?
Seems like the “Financial Analyst” role is just a new title for Accountant. I’m on my third interview for a Senior Financial Analyst position but the job description seems to be a mixture of both general accounting activities but also financial statement analysis. Is this a trap? Or is it truly a hybrid finance/accounting role?
Is Senior Accountant to Sr Financial Analyst reasonably possible? I'm having a hard time selling my audit experience to a Finance hiring manager who doesn't have PA experience or their CPA. I'm thinking if I do a Sr Accountant role for 1-3 years I would be more marketable for a Sr Financial Analyst position. Thoughts? Seems like most Financial Analyst positions want forecasting experience and some of the Sr Accountant roles I've seen mention that as a job duty.
What’s a good salary for a senior financial analyst position in NYC/NJ at a media company or music label to ask for?
Anyone seen a successful move from risk to FP&A? I do have the CPA but haven't had much luck. Going to a more traditional financial analyst (aka accounting and financial reporting) role seems doable but FP&A really wants the modeling background that I don't have. Maybe I should just settle so I can get out of risk.
Got offered a financial analyst position with better pay and better work life balance but it’s in the retail industry. Should I take it? With the volatility of retail and all.
Would you take a lateral move as a new A2 to a financial analyst (FP&A) position at a Fortune 50 tech company if given the opportunity?

Can anyone please share some resume bullet points for a Financial Analyst role? Coming from audit experience. I’ve performed revenue analytics, sensitivity analyses, and reviewed accounting estimates.
How common is it for recruiters to misrepresent jobs to people like us? I had one sell me on a senior financial analyst role and was super pumped about it. Later last night was digging and come to find out it’s a SEC Reporting Analyst role, nothing like what I want and the duties are totally different.
Have any of you left for a typical financial analyst gig in industry? I chose tax because I don’t like GL accounting, but was presented a good role in industry. Most of me thinks I’m going to be miserable and should hair stay in PA. I’m a salesman by nature and love the client side of my job, just don’t like the technical aspects and poor pay. Any advice?

What are good exit opportunities for someone who has 2 years at a big4 and wanting to climb the corporate latter? Should I go for a financial analyst role or a senior accounting role to get to management quicker?
I’m an A2 and want to get more into a finance related role. Financial Analyst or FP&A. I have my CPA but don’t have any finance experience (modeling, forecasting, etc). I’ve performed sensitivity analysis, revenue analytics, etc on my engagement but is the only experience I have related to finance. Is an FA or FP&A role too far to switch into? Should I be looking now or wait until I’m a senior?
Should I try to leave as a current second year into a financial analyst position or wait a year for senior promo and try to get a Senior Financial Analyst position?

Any thoughts on Sr Financial Analyst role (top 10 CPG firm)? I’m currently a consultant about 1.5 years in being recruited for this role for transformation. Would it be “worth it” transition? I love finance have mostly worked on internal audit so far. Just some advice here would be great if anyone knew anything about if this role would be worth it.
I’m a current 2nd year and I know I want to switch into an FP&A career. Does it make sense to switch to an entry level Financial Analyst position now or should I stay till senior and try to get a senior financial analyst position?

However you’re also currently in a long distance relationship with a SO you love and have been with for 4 years. The relationship is starting to crack and moving abroad to be with her seems like the best decision to kee the relationship. How would you play this out sirs/maams? Ask manager to work abroad and quit if they reject it? Thx for the feedback 😔

Thoughts on Jabian consulting? Up for promotion in July, and got presented to interview with Jabian. Working on getting to Capgemini Invent right now after my promotion. Jabian is offering a much better salary but its a boutique firm. Should I consider Jabian, or go to Capgemini Invent and get better exit opportunities?

Can someone provide feedback on this offer? Analyst role, fed govt contract analyst. Currently <2yoe in audit. Role is max 40 hours a week. Pay will be 80-90k. I like the hours and deviation from accounting, worried about what a government role might do to my career projections. Thanks!
What are the ultimate consulting exit apps (I.e? specific role/team & industry) for the non-technical consultants? Looking to understand the exit opps available that: 1. Pay in line with MBB or exceeds (YOY raise is also in line with career and pay progression at MBB) 2. Have reasonable hours, at most 9-7 so I can pick up some hobbies and have a personal life 3. Have great global brand/prestige that will make me as desirable exiting consulting now vs exiting that company in the future

In my first year of big law and hours at my sweat shop firm are already getting to me. Recently got an email from a recruiter promoting a fully remote lit associate position with a 1600 hrs reqmt at a less than 50 atty law firm and essentially what is old Cravath scale pay. Does anyone have experience with a move like this? Too good to be true? I was under the impression that positions with low billables for big law (or close to big law) pay don’t really exist…
