Looking to transition from accounts to assistant producer role in a boutique/smaller production company. Based in LA and experience on Fortune 500 clients - any suggestions?? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

Grew up without a lot. Worked my ass off to get a good education and a high paying job. Now I’m extremely unhappy with the job after ~3 YOE. Suffering from depression. I’d like to start over as a video producer (entry level position with a 60% paycut). I’m a creative person, I can’t imagine doing “corporate/business” roles for the rest of my life. Scared if I make the transition I’ll be unhappy again but with less pay. So conflicted.

This is my first agency in the US and I have noticed that account is excluded from a lot of the production process - i.e. we see the selections during client reviews (talent, locations, wardrobe). Is this common practice in the US or is it just the agency I work at. While working abroad account team was very involved and part of the decision making even playing hybrid project/producer role so am really disappointed with the current style.

When you hear the job title “Senior Producer” in the context of the London job market, how old do you imagine the person being who holds this position? Are they single or do they have a family?

What companies are hiring? I’m looking to get my foot in the door as an Associate Producer or new Producer. I was only in account management for 3-years, my background is TV/Film production, mainly the production office and some floor management. Also, should I be weary of AP job titles that sound more like project management?

In search, "producer" yields much different results ($$ wise) from "project manager", and from "technical" + "producer/project manager"
