Layoffs

Currently with a Salesforce boutique prod and consulting firm as a Manager and make around $135k base with 5% bonus. Very good WLB and loyalty perks. 0% Travel. No layoffs at all. I got an offer from Deloitte for a Sr Consultant position with the base of 145k. Yet to negotiate. I have total 7 yoe. Is this the right move considering just $10k increase in pay? How much Deloitte brand matters for exit ops? I prefer good WLB if not great and prefer travel to be under 50%

If you still believe the election was stolen, you should be fired from your job because no client deserves a consultant with such poor critical thinking skills.

Is Deloitte USI specifically in Oracle Cloud Technology, Is it doing layoffs? Level Senior Consultant

What's better if I want to work in tech / product strategy (idk something like that) in the future: an entry-level role in a boutique consultant firm or a ~2YOE ops role in a FAANG? Have a year of experience from a boutique strategy house but was laid off due to COVID.

My partner is an accomplished writer and author with 10+ years in digital media as an editor (lifestyle, food, travel), but they are looking to get into something less volatile after layoffs. Any ideas how to make the pivot into content or marketing? How to position for exit ops when kind of senior but in a new role? I’m a life science consultant so coming up short on ideas.

Hey all - I wanted to ask if anyone has ever felt that things were not going to work out. I was a consultant for a T3 consulting firm and, despite excellent reviews was laid off without warning. I went to a startup like company in Texas and was under an abusive boss where I worked over 85+ hours and could not afford an apartment. I left to keep my sanity. I am told that I am highly skilled and have the capacity to be one of the best but I keep failing. I am 26 and my career feels like purgatory.

As a young consultant only 2 or so years into my career, who has lost a ton of money in the stock market (for me) and has had a few friends get laid off...can someone tell me everything is going to be alright

NYC fish! Need some advice. I recently got laid off at my firm but am thankfully making it to the final rounds of another great firm. The only catch is that they're no longer hiring for the NYC office, only Philly and Princeton. Any thoughts or advice? Recently laid off from Sr. Consultant role in energy in Houston. 4 years exp in supply chain/procurement and 2 in consulting (mainly tech PM work aka scrum). Have my MBA and PSM 1 cert. On every objective measure, I know I’m doing really well. Yet somehow, this job makes me feel like I’m never doing enough, never good enough, never will get promoted, and will inevitably get fired. Anyone else feel this way? It sure didn’t feel this way when I made 30% less money and worked 30% less hours in industry before becoming a consultant.

Having trouble writing external resume. As a consultant, I’ve had multiple titles/clients. I want to highlight the management and impressive roles I’ve had in all different projects/clients, but the scanners see it as a “job hopper”. Also, resume becomes very crowded. How do I list myself as a consultant at accenture - with multiple titles/clients for the past 2 years? I just got laid off and need to start applying. Any help will be appreciated.

How are the responsibilities of a senior consultant differ from that of a staff consultant at EY? For some context, I received an offer at EY at the senior consultant level, but I was a consultant at Deloitte (before getting laid off due to COVID). My husband and I both had COVID-19 in late March, and I was working around the clock on layoffs and constantly prioritizing my work over my family.I finally hit a wall, listened to the voice inside, and left my HR leadership role to become an independent consultant. I am consulting with companies to help them bridge the enormous gaps between employee needs and current employer actions. My first order of business was running the first large-scale study focusing exclusively on COVID-19's impacts on working mothers. I would love to hear what your organizations are grappling with the massive undertaking of redefining your company culture and employee.

Have final round interviews this week at Guidehouse, Grant Thornton, and IBM Federal after being laid off from ACN. Am unsure which firm I’d take an offer with given that they all go well. Any insight into pros & cons of each would be greatly appreciated. Roles are all at the Consultant level.

Offered role with client for same amount of money but one level higher. Trying to figure out if Worth taking it. It’s my dream role but the pay is the same ( consultant to manager role). Reasons to leave D, work life balance, layoffs scare me, current client has good culture/ work to life balance is 9-5. Is it common to get offers from clients? If so maybe I can wait and get better offer.

Is it ethical to layoff a consultant by using the counsel to leave mechanism over the standard redundancy process? Theres less notice period and no compensation for such a case. Furthermore the consultant was previously good standing or at least average. Do we have any legislation to protect us against such actions?
