Do mbb and big 4 do different types of work in deal making?

How is Babson College undergrad viewed by consulting firms? Boutiques, Big 4, T2’s, MBB, etc

Have 5 YOE across different roles (Sales, Consulting, Project Management).

Anyone know any Consulting firms outside of the MBB and Big 4 that are more lenient to a diverse background?

Whose done it? What did it take? Did you still need to do case interviews?

Does it makes sense to work at Big 4 if you’re 30 and working in industry, making good money. Was thinking if Big 4 can accelerate my career or if i ever make switch to consulting it only should be MBB or tier 2.

Anyone changed job from big 4 advisory to MBB consulting after you got I-140 (before 485)? Were you able to keep your priority date?

Asking on behalf of a friend. For MBB, the Big 4, and other top tier consulting firms - which MBA schools enable you to be a MBA hire? Just the T10? UT-Austin is what I’m curious about specifically. For example, I have an MBA from a small private school and I know the big firms wouldn’t hire me at the MBA pay so want to learn where the line gets drawn to give my friend advice. TIA!

I messed up my interview with Millennium LLP for an entry level role and I feel nothing but dread right now. I believe it was my only opportunity at obtaining a high salary / profile job compared to my other options that only pay half as much. How can I accept the fact that I might not be able to start out as successful as I wanted to be? I believe it’s extremely difficult to jump between layers (E.G. Big 4 to MBB) later on in my career.

About 2 years experience in a small consulting firm looking to lateral into other firms. What are some firms out there besides MBB and Big 4? Open to those firms but also know there are more out there. I’m also open to the tech industry but not sure breaking in there is possible with only about 2 year experience. So I am now in a top MBA and going into a tier1/MBB consulting firm.
I started my career in my families business we’re I worked really hard but did not feel very appreciated. I ended up leaving to live with my partner in another country and tried to enter investment banking knowing that I wanted to get an MBA. I had to take an internship and then got hired by a bank, soon enough I got fired but hired by a Big 4 ( start of covid) ended up getting laid off.

Does anyone know at what position can a person with 2-2.5 yrs of experience at a Big 4 join MBB at ? Do we come in as experienced business analysts ?

How different is Big 4 consulting compared to MBB? I’m making the move next year and I’m quite nervous.

I’m an MS Management Student graduating in June 2023. I applied to over 40 positions within the Big 4/MBB and even with extensive networking, I haven’t heard back from any really. I have an offer from a pretty well-known but less prestigious Consulting Firm, but I’m wondering what my chances even are of going Big 4/MBB if I’m not a campus hire. Will they even consider me for an experienced hire a year or two down the road if they showed no interest this time? Any advice welcome!

How do US staffing models differ between the large implementation related work across MBB, Big 4, WITCH type firms?

Would anyone care to share their reflections on moving from big 4 to MBB (preferably at SM / D level) - good, bad, ugly...?

I’m seeing jobs on LinkedIn for BCG M roles (amongst others). I work in the strategy team of a big 4 and have been in the manager role for ~2 years, expecting promotion this year. Have strong P sponsorship. But pay is 30% lower.

@MBB - how well have you seen people do when they make the jump at the M level? My concerns are not knowing specific firm methodology (my perception is it’s more ingrained / dogmatic in MBB) and lack of sponsorship at the D / P level makes it hard to progress. Thoughts?

Skilled in project management, organizational change management, vendor management, digital transformation, IT modernization, business/data analytics, process optimization, and overall IT strategy

Looking for referrals at MBB, Big 4, Accenture, etc.

Is it crazy if I exit big 4 (non strategy) right after graduating with an MBA after 10 YOE and go to MBB or similar to do strategy work? Is it taking steps back? Is it going to make my resume stronger if I later decide to exit Consulting and have those names, years and experience ( although not crazy titles since I'll be starting again at MBB)?

Do some MBB engagements are actually working with clients side-by-side ("holding hand") to help them achieve their operational goals kind of implementation? Or is it more advisory, strategy and providing recommendations?
