Feel as if I’m constantly behind peers in terms of career progression (e.g. MBB/ FAANG) despite having a decent-ish background (tier 2 consulting and now at top tier finance company in strategy role). I find that the companies I’ve worked at have very set progression based on tenure, with no room for negotiation. I’m really ambitious/ hardworking and I am not sure where to go that would match my goals of career progression. Is it just MBB/ FAANG or is there anywhere else? Any ideas?

What's a median salary (considering all US employees) for big 4, Accenture, MBB and FAANG? Is 200k for big 4/ACN, 300K for MBB, 400k for FAANG a good ball park estimate?

I’ve never been in mbb or big 4. Just smaller consulting firms. Have a competing offer between FAANG and MBB.

I’m in tech and FAANG is more interesting for my career as well as preferred work culture. However, I’ve seen a lot about MBB here and kind of want to join just so I can say I was in MBB.

Are post-MBA exits from MBB actually as good or easy as they’re perceived to be? It seems like everyone is walking out for 15-30% (or more) TC bump, with better WLB at great companies - is it really as easy as just sliding right into places like FAANG and whatnot? I recently received two offers: (1) Deloitte (S&O); and Accenture (Technology Consulting). Which would be more aligned to MBB/FAANG?

Should I still try to negotiate salary after accepting a offer? It is from Accenture for a security analyst position. Since I’m basically a new grad I assumed negotiating salary wouldn’t be worth it. Until I talked to someone on the security team there and he told me I should at least be a senior analyst since I am coming in with a Masters. Should I try to negotiate to a senior role and the salary or leave it? It’s my only cybersecurity offer. Also looking for FAANG,big4or MBB referrals :)

25. At MBB. Thought I wanted PE but I’m thinking FAANG PM type role might be better now. Ultimately I’d like to start my own business. Where are people who join PE 4-5 years down the line vs those who join FAANG?

My career goal isn’t to make it to MBB or a unicorn or FAANG. It’s to feel fulfilled and challenged as I progress. I can’t be the only one that isn’t title or company chasing.

Does B4 let people go the same day as their resignation only if they’re going to a direct competitor? How about MBB or a tier 2 consulting firm?

Have people been let go immediately in case they go to FAANG or other industry firms?

Starting Friday (early morning) with a Google rejection saying the interview is cancelled less than 2 days after its scheduling. Got rejected from Apple too this week.

On the bright side, I recently got promoted and have been receiving great PPMD & SM feedback for a few weeks & genuinely felt proud of my work+feats - I think that is equally, if not, more important than getting praise. Gotta take life with the good & the bad.
