Who is Hiring?

Is now a terrible time to try and lateral within consulting at the Senior Consultant level? Looking at T2 and MBB. I have referrals lined up at the firms I’m most interested in but I have yet to apply. Are firms still hiring? FYI I’m in Supply Chain/Manufacturing tech and strategy.

Did MBB reduce hiring numbers for MBA summer associates?

I’ve been in a corporate/internal strategy role for 1.5 years after M7-MBA. I’ve been in a very toxic team and I want to get out. I’ve started looking for jobs and noticed that there are not many consultant/associate level type of roles. My team has demoralized me to the point I don’t think I’m ready for MBB and a friend at MBB said they want to get out too. Any advice on what kind of jobs to look for post this exp of strategy? Feel lost.

Is MBB’s MBA hiring done? Trying to see if this is a good time to apply as an experience hire (post MBA level). Many thanks in advance!

Currently making $250-300k in an IC tech job. I have thought about trying again for MBB (stopped the interview after I got this job) to grow faster for more supervisory or strategically oriented tech jobs but the pay cut, much worse wlb, and worse tech are hard to swallow. Does it even make sense to go to MBB with that goal? Especially when I could just focus harder on growing where I am?

any resources you guys would recommend for numerical reasoning/other pre-interview assessments?
(Currently at a T2, hoping to start applying to MBB this summer when the hiring market heats back up)

Interested in pursuing Engagement manager opportunities at MBB. Can you please help me out with the referrals? I’ve done 7 live cases and general read up over the last month and one of the MBB’s recruiting has opened in my city. Is it worth applying, rather than waiting when im more ready but risk missing the window for hiring?

Got laid off, have a good severance to keep me going. As I’m searching for jobs I get a lot of pings from other consulting firms and recently got one from MBB. I’m not remotely interested in consulting anymore (Cotd)

Does MBB, when hiring experienced professionals, have an entry level position slightly above campus hire entries, or is it all the same level?

I.e., is there a “Sr. Business Analyst” or “Senior Associate” role at MBB, similar to the “Consultant I” (campus hire) vs. “Consultant II” (experienced hire) at some T2/B4

Struck out at MBB/T2 for FT MBA recruiting. Didn’t get many interviews which seems to be a theme for many classmates (tough cycle). Is there any hope of getting a post-MBA consulting gig in the spring? Will firms consider me for JIT Experienced Hiring positions?

Given the current economic environment, would be possible to switch from Accenture to MBB or has hiring largely stopped for lateral entry?

Former MBB intern, just found out that the big tech firm I was going to work at full time is freezing hiring and is rescinding the full time offer. Sort of lost on what I do now, I graduate in May and worried about career trajectory.

Are there any cool or fun jobs that actually pay well and are attainable for a prior Consultant / someone who worked on mostly finance engagements?

Ex: Not tech, not PE, not IB, not MBB. Other jobs.

I’m seeing jobs on LinkedIn for BCG M roles (amongst others). I work in the strategy team of a big 4 and have been in the manager role for ~2 years, expecting promotion this year. Have strong P sponsorship. But pay is 30% lower.

@MBB - how well have you seen people do when they make the jump at the M level? My concerns are not knowing specific firm methodology (my perception is it’s more ingrained / dogmatic in MBB) and lack of sponsorship at the D / P level makes it hard to progress. Thoughts?

Are any MBB’s/T2s hiring for entry level analyst positions? I have worked for a year and half at a T2 firm in Dubai within the strategy team. I’ve also graduated from top 5 university in Canada with a degree in Maths. Would appreciate any help/referrals! 😁

Why is MBB hiring so elitist? London office specifically
