Met a CIO of a VC firm for black beauty brands (like my own brand) who was interested in recruiting me as a venture associate - I would directly be working with her and a contracted finance team for due diligence comp analysis etc. after calling her she said they’d want to do a 90 day project before fully hiring me for the role. The thing is its also during the cycle of other jobs like MBB that I was also hoping to apply for. Should I take the 90 day paid project is that common practice in VC?

I just changed job and am planning to do so again.
I’m not sure how would I explain my risks in the applications. All of these jobs are in different industries and I am switching to gain some perspective.
I’ll be applying next year, and the thought that I might be ruining my B school admits scares me.

Anyone got insight on which offices are open to hiring internationals from abroad?

I’m from an African country that has no MBB or Big 4 consulting presence. Went to a target school in ZA, but like many other African countries they weren’t open to internationals.

I’ve got 1.5 years experience (1 promo) and my contract is running out, so figured I’d try for an entry level consulting role. Hoping to go for an MBA after 2 years so not picky on location, MBB, B4, T2. Fluent in EN and PT.

Hi guys, I got a feeling that big 4 or T2 companies kinda quiet in jakarta as opposed to MBB where they conduct lots of recruiting events (management consulting). Any reason for that particularly or maybe big 4 prefer internal hiring only?

Is hiring slowing down at MBB for lateral hires?

I recently interviewed for a Snr Sales Strategy & Insights Mgr role at Cisco. IMO, this is the most unprofessional process I v bn in. The process took 4+ months. Hiring mgr put role on hold for 3 wks. Had to push recruiter/mgr for feedback after every interview 1 month gaps. All my interviewers (ex MBB) gave excellent feedback & recruiter. After my last push 1 month after 3rd intv, was told the role had been filled. IMO, the hiring mgr doesnt want me cos I am black. Hence the intentional delay.

What would be good consulting companies (e.g., Big 4) I could join after MBB? Which companies would be interest in hiring ex-MBBs where you could get comparable benefits, a similar trajectory, and a higher position from the start?

I have 11+ YoE in consulting mostly outside Canada and did my MBA in the US. Is there someone here from MBB, S&, EY-P or OW Canada who is open for a chat? wanna know more about the org culture, type of engagements, team expectations and hiring process.

Are the MBB firms still hiring aggressively?

My assumption is that MBB hiring is slowing down, but I’d appreciate any insight as to how much.

3 YOE primarily in strategy and analytics, F50 SM (obviously somewhat inflated title, but do have a team under me) looking to make the jump.

Considering a move from MBB to HF investing as I find the prospect of investing very attractive and have an upcoming interview. Currently a senior ASC, junior Manager and Curious however of exit opportunities and life after HF. If for some reason it doesn’t work out for me am I limiting my future exit opportunities if I make this move? One of the reasons I liked consulting was the optionality it offered in terms of future jobs in particular operating roles.

Are any of the MBB firms on a hiring freeze? I have heard McKinsey isnt considering any experienced hire applications

How soon is it to ask for a raise? Just joined a small boutique consultancy doing M&A work in London two months ago after finishing an advanced degree. Recruiters have already reached out saying MBB and Big 4 are hiring and interested in my profile. I like my current company but with the way inflation is going, money matters more + interested in better growth opportunities in a larger firm. Is there scope to negotiate a salary rise so early into a job or should I bail for bigger?

What are the top London buy-side jobs if you value WLB (optimise for £/h)? Is there a sweet spot somewhere between MF PE (bad WLB) and VC (low pay)? 4 YoE in MBB, startup, VC

Received an entry level MBB offer as an experienced hire. I’m going to accept the offer but am somewhat nervous about changing jobs with the state of the economy. Obviously the “looming recession” is just skepticism, but is MBB known to be secure during during economic downturns? My start date isn’t until late summer so I’m also nervous about it being rescinded if things go south.

Thoughts on the “digital” versions of MBB vs big4 firms? Thinking of moving jobs from my current CyberSec boutique, but not sure if I want to move to McK digital/BCG Plantinion (Not sure on the Bain version) or just going the cyber route at a Big4 or T2 firm.

He wants to pivot out of banking and maybe look for an opportunity with FAANG or with MBB/Tier2 consulting. Any inputs on how to go about this transition, what hiring managers look for and if consulting is an option? TIA

Nowadays FAANG , top most product based companies and startups are hiring from tier 2/3 colleges and universities . At first they were going for IIT and NITs but now they have changed . But why MBB is not changing. They would always for college tag. Will they ever change?
