MBB 🐠 - how is hiring currently? I’m a data analytics consultant and looking to move. Don’t have an MBA though, not sure if that is a mandate. Can someone explain the process a bit. Will I need a referral? Thank you so much!

Is MBB hiring (US)?

I only plan on staying in consulting for about 2 more years then off for an MBA. Would it be more worth it to take a level and pay raise at a different big4 moving to senior level rather than going to associate/analyst level at MBB? These are my two choices at the moment.

I want to position myself best for post MBA jobs in industry. Salary will def be lower at MBB compared to the senior level at big4 so not sure if it’s worth the trade off in experience.

MBB manager in Life Sciences: struggling to find a good exit. VC/PE - feels like consulting toolkit not really useful, and I’m competing with analysts. Big pharma - in my country too pharmaco not hiring consultants. Startups - don’t sponsor visa. Feels stuck! Any ideas/advice?

Working on scheduling final round interviews with 2 of MBB and got the options for early Dec and early Jan. Would there be a difference in success rate if scheduling interview right before the holiday season vs after the new year? Curious to know thoughts in terms of recent surging hiring needs/headcounts and other external factors. TIA!

We all know consulting/advisory jobs in big 4 and mbb are tough and high burn ones. Expectations of high stress and long working hours are there. Why would people still want to work and stay in those jobs and expecting the companies to bend with their low stress tolerance.

Interviewing with an industry hiring manager who is a former technical recruiter who got an M7 MBA and then worked at MBB for years. What a combo.

What jobs match consulting comp but with better WLB, currently a PL/EM at MBB. What exits will give me similar pay outside of PE/Finance?

Could a case still be made for an M7 MBA if one has directly promoted to the MBB post-MBA role? I wanted an MBA but am lateraling to Bain PEG and will be one year away from Consultant promo. At that point, what jobs would be worth recruiting for from M7? PE? VC? Would I need H/S/W for it to be worth it?

Is a MBA worth it if you’re already at MBB? I see people wanting to get into tech and PE, but those jobs recruit from consulting firms already. Is there a long-term benefit to getting a MBA such as being on the inside track for leadership positions? Is the network really that valuable? I feel like you can find all the coursework on coursera anyways.

Which is a better overall experience for future full time jobs/long term trajectory? MBB internship or Google BOLD internship?

Interested in a variety of things including product/strategy at a tech company, but also areas like PE and non-tech strategy/ops.

Currently at S& and looking to make a lateral exit to MBB... what's the best approach? Should I be looking to peers for referrals? Are these firms even hiring right now? If I were to be recently promoted at S&, will I be able to lateral to the new firm at the promoted level? Or will they likely push me back one level? Any insight would be extremely helpful 🙏🙏

What's the big hype with MBB? Fairly new to US work life, I'm an ML Engineer (technical client facing role at KPMG). I got recruiters reach out on LinkedIn on behalf of 2 of the 3 acronyms and the roles seemed to be mostly focused on PowerPoint decks creation. I don't have an MBA which I understand it's a prerequisite for hiring in these groups, though I have a PhD in Machine Learning from a big technical school in the US. Is it worth pursuing such exits, friends?

Anyone know what are considered the better/more prestigious jobs to recruit for at an M7 MBA? Obviously MBB is popular but where do the top quartile want to go?

I am 31 and I am planning to switch jobs. I have done consulting for 4 years, moved to industry for 3 years and now I am planning to go back to consulting to chase the partner dream. In a dilemma if its a good career move or not. How long does it take to make partner at MBB or big 4?. Is it worth the grind or should just stay in industry? Appreciate any insight.

Has the hiring criteria dropped significantly at MBB? Earlier I wasn’t getting an interview even with referral. But now was reached out by 2 different recruiters and just received an offer for EM although I wasn’t super interested anymore due to an industry offer.

For people just out of undergrad, is non mbb consulting worth it? Like is it still better than most non technical corporate jobs you can get out of undergrad? Or it is basically like a corporate business analyst?

Which firms seem more open for hiring from boutique consulting groups (MBB, Deloitte, Accenture, etc)?
6 YOE in consulting (both commercial and federal) plus 4Y mil service, MS.

Is MBB still on a hiring spree? What about for analysts? 1 YOE looking for greener pastures. Did my due diligence and checked Fishbowl but didn’t see any posts from the last few weeks.

With so many people reportedly leaving consulting, I’m wondering how common is it to leave for less TC?

MBB comp $200k+ at 27. Do most people get increases above that or just go to jobs sitting at $150k but that “have better WLB”?

*Not looking to include those that switch to industries with intentional disregard about comp (eg public sector, charity, teaching etc).

I have been working in PwC UK for two years and I am progressing very fast in my career (PMO) though every time I apply for jobs in Italy at the above companies, I just get rejected straight away.

I understand there’s a lot of elements to consider, but for context:
1. Yes I do have experience in the roles i’m applying for
2. my CV works perfectly fine in the UK

Just joined my client organization and am on hiring spree preferably from MBB. Coming across so many McKC and Bain Capability profiles masking as front-end consulting on thier CV. Are these organizations aware of this?

Business idea — an Upwork/Fivver but for white collar jobs, specially consulting and managed services. Instead of all of us working for B4/MBB/Etc. You have a chance to freelance and freedom to work anywhere/anytime. Basically high paying gig economy jobs.

What’s up with the hiring managers asking me where I am from originally. Followed by “O wow, was it a big shock for you” I have an Ivy undergrad and been in US for over 10 years now. Most of these hiring managers are seasoned ex-MBB folks who I am sure would have worked with many Indians like me at MBB. Also never hear back from them again.

I’m a consultant at MBB but hate analytics. What are jobs that would be good for me? I enjoy writing and research and high level strategy.
