Employer provides parental leave of 2 weeks for secondary caregiver. Just started exploring NY PFL. Looks like the eligibility is upto 12 weeks for New York employees. Pay can be a max of 100%. Wondering if anyone on H-1B has taken NY PFL previously. Any pros/cons/things to consider?

What are the parental leave benefits at Siegfried? I can't find any information on their benefits package or online, neither can I find it on the internet, I'm new and don't want to ask about it since I recently started,not planning for a baby right just want to know for the future.

I have what I think is a final interview this Friday. Small legal dept where I would be the 3rd lawyer. I’m not sure how many candidates are still being considered but I assume they will make an offer within the next week or so.

One major point for me is parental leave. I don’t think they have any and I plan to have another kid fall/winter 2023. Fortunately they are big enough for FMLA but I’m considering asking for a signing bonus if no parental leave is provided. When’s the best time to ask?

We’re having a baby coming this end of August. KPMG has 12 weeks parental leave. Planning to take 4 weeks in September but I can’t seem to figure out when to use 8 more weeks. I’m so tempted to do Feb-March (peak busy season for our client) but I feel completely bad cause I actually like this client/team and I know how a lot of test work is done. (Senior A.) Can I suggest to my manager that rather than taking leave, to schedule me only 40 hours during these times? Would that be unfair to others?

Anyone know if Cravath is matching the Ropes & Gray parental leave policy or if other firms are following?

Is parental leave paid?

For those that have implemented a parental leave policy in a Sales org- if you elect to compensate employees at 100% of pay as part of parental leave- do you consider base and commission or just base pay in your calculation?

Parental Leave: This “primary”, “non-primary”, “secondary” terminology is confusing! I get they’re trying to to be gender neutral but it’s inconsistent. Can someone break this down for me?

We just added 2 week paid parental leave as a benefit for this year, however I just started with the company and there was no process put in place. How do you all have yours set up? Is there a time off policy that employees use so that hours are allocated under that policy? Do they work directly with your leave management provider? Any information would be much appreciated. Trying for a baby- already worried about how I will share if we do get pregnant. How far along did you share w your boss/company. I’m at a rapidly growing start up with a lot of responsibility. Leadership/C Suite is incredibly supportive of taking leave and parents in general (and supported the policy we implemented) but mid level managers and employees look at it as a lack of commitment to take parental leave. It’s a male dominated industry and very few women have taken parental leave here.

How much notice should one give of parental leave? Does length of notice differ based on level of responsibility at your company?

I’m joining Accenture Federal soon and had some questions about parental leave. First, is there a minimum timeframe you have to work for Accenture before they let you take maternity/parental leave. Secondly, in the recruiting brochure maternity leave is separate from parental leave. Can you take both of you are the primary caretake for a total of 4 months?

I should have thought more about studying computer science or electrical engineering than accounting. Big 4 benefits are so paltry in comparison to tech companies. Found out some of the benefits tech companies have for their employees are killer:
•$3K wellness fund
•4 months parental leave & $5K gift for new parents
•Childcare reimbursement $3K
•Fully paid health insurance (vision, dental included)
•Fully paid internet and cellphone

Not to mention much higher pay and better WLB.

My confession is our team lead is our on parental leave rn and I'm not sure how many emails to exclude/include them on. Like for big things i feel like we should include so they can see when they're back but people are including them for like huddle agendas, small fires put out same afternoon, etc. Then some people are excluding them 100%

Do firms generally pro-rate billable hours required for a bonus if you take parental leave? Or does it completely depend on the firm?

Received an offer to lateral to a big firm. The benefits package includes health, dental, disability etc. but no mention of their parental leave policy. I don’t recall my current job spelling that out either in my offer. Im not planning on having kids in the immediate future but I am curious of the policy at the new firm. Fair question to ask or will it scare them if I do?

Are you entitled to the parental leave benefits on day 1 of working at Salesforce or is there a certain period of time you have to be with the company to be eligible for the benefit?

Recommendation for a tax person to help with complicated taxes - husband and I lived in NJ for part of 2021, he worked remotely for an nyc and then Long Island co., I worked in NJ and for a MA firm. We also both took parental leave and taxes weren’t taken out of some of that pay. Also, need child credit for said child who the IRS doesn’t know about yet.

Can you share your firm’s parental leave/pay policy? My firm supplements disability payments (to earn full salary) for six weeks. The rest is unpaid. Is this the norm?

What is the best approach a firm can take to cover work during parental leave? I ask because I’ve been asked to take on a supervisor’s workload in addition to my own for three months starting next week and I already do not have the bandwidth for my current workload.

The only other mid-level associate in my group is out on parental leave and I’m being drowned with their work and mine… but I’m giving notice in a couple of weeks. I don’t know how to cope with my huge workload and my simultaneous almost-out-the-door outlook. Any advice? Just got staffed on two new deals today…
