Is it wrong, either from a policy or moral standpoint, to travel with the spouse for fun during company-paid parental leave? We’d be leaving the kid at home under the care of the grandparents.

Any luck negotiating Parental leave with a new job? I am expecting an offer but my SO is expecting and according to new company's policy, I'm eligible after 1 year of service but will only have like 6months by the time the baby comes. I’ve been waiting for security clearance since July and just found out I’m pregnant after trying for a year. I’m hoping clearance will be granted in early spring 2021 and I can start work soon after. Thankfully taking unpaid time off isn’t a big issue (won’t be eligible for FMLA or parental leave), but worried about timing and telling HR & my supervisor. I’m planning to tell them once I start; know timing isn’t ideal and stressed about starting off on the wrong foot. Any advice?

How much parental leave does your company offer to employees? Please include location, size of company and type of business. We are a SaaS company in NYC with 60 employees. We give 16 weeks paid for “primary caregivers “ and 6 weeks for “secondary “ caregivers. I want to advocate for everyone to get at least 12 weeks.

Hey McK 🐠 out there, I just accepted an offer and would like to know when I should give parental leave notice (we’ve got a little one on the way). My wife also works full time and for us to make this work, both of us will need to fully utilize our parental leave. Should I wait until start of third trimester, or notify before I get staffed on a project? Not sure what the policies or company norms are. Thanks in advance! 🙏
