Hi, Is it imapctful to have your picture on Microsoft Teams ?

I’ve been trying to look into anxiety group therapy or support groups in the Northern NJ/NYC area, but searching hasn’t come up with anything except for all female support groups. Are there any guys (or girls) on here that would be interested in starting one together? Maybe meet once a week on Zoom after work hours? Maybe we could find a therapist or a psych graduate student looking for extra cash that we could pool some money together for to lead discussions and whatnot? Just spitballing here.

I am a new APMM, and the youngest at my company (25<). I am doing a fair amount of training involving reporting on our organic KPI’s, and producing lead generating content; however, I want to take some serious contd. education/certifications to level up my skills past what I am doing to position myself as a product leader in the workforce. My goal is to be a key figure in the product industry as this is what I geared my degree towards! I am a PMA slack member but not a paid one. Any suggestions?

How formal does everyone keep internal emails? I would like to drop all of the formalities (similar to what you see in quick messaging systems like Slack or Skype). There is a general sense of formality in most of the emails exchanged, but I'm fine with trying to break this trend if everyone else is doing it.

(1) what modalities do your firms use for consultations (in person, Zoom, Teams, phone, etc.)
(2) what do you do about no-shows? How much leeway to be late, if any, do you give?

Hi! What’s the best software to use for internal communications. We are using Microsoft teams, signal, office 365 outlook email, it’s all a bit all over the place. Does anyone have a great suggestion of a software that we can use that’s much better than just using teams or signal.

Started my company this week and have no idea what I should be doing during this week while onboarding. I just took naps and checked email/slack occasionally to see if anyone is messaging me

I’m really struggling to pay attention in zoom meetings. I either end up surfing the internet or rearranging my desk or working on other tasks. I really want to just be present and listen to the presentation or meeting! UGH!! I try to ask relevant questions but I end up asking a question and then getting distracted my something else, then I’m worried if I ask another question or make a comment it will be about something I missed and everyone will know I wasn’t paying attention…

Anyone know how the Slack activity indicator works? Do I need to have it open on my phone to show up green?

Are there any good slack communities - free or paid - like off the ledger for finance and accounting folks?

How to deal with account people that just act as messengers and basically everything that client requests dumps on creative?
Right now some designers have to work until after midnight because the account team promised client to show new work tomorrow, without consulting with me first to see if it’s doable. They just send me a slack notification and meeting request.

Curious if folks have thoughts on government work. Specifically advisor vs litigation positions for the federal government. I can’t tell if I actually want to be done with court filings and advocacy or if I’m just exhausted and need a break. I’ve been working uninterrupted the entire pandemic and yes many colleagues have left my firm so I’ve had to pick up their slack.

Looking for ways to streamline Daily staffing/coverage Communication across multiple offices. I prefer to standardize something through Microsoft Teams since we already use that platform, but open to other free applications/tools.
The biggest struggle is each office being able to see “the bigger picture.” My staff (RNs and MAs) complains they are always covering for their home office and other offices and no one covers for them, but that’s not the case. Want them to see how other offices cover.

Anyone get sworn in via zoom still feel like they missed the opportunity to get sworn in in person? I was sworn in right at the start of the pandemic and feel like I missed a moment in my career. Anyone else feel this way or not care?

What is wrong with you?

I'm a project manager at a F100 working on my first project, and in the middle of kickoff and the final stages of the project, I literally don't have anything on my schedule. I just sit in front of Slack all day and reach out to the team to make sure they're connected with the resources they need, and communicate with the client team when needed. Is that it as a PM? Not sure if I'm bored or grateful with the lack of workload, and if this is a BS job or my role is adding value here.
