Feels like I spend all day every day on zoom. Are any companies less meeting heavy, and if so how do you do it?

Have folks at other firms noticed a decline in the quality of new fresh-graduate hires? I *certainly* have. I have two hypotheses. Tight job market, so my firm lowered their bar. Or, a 3.8 from Cornell when two of those years were on Zoom just is not the same. I'm hoping it's the job market, can anyone at a prestige firm confirm that your quality of new hires is the same as pre-covid?

Anyone here work at Snapfish?? I currently did a Skype interview with someone and got a job offer same day. He sent me paperwork and wants me to sign the offer letter before even speaking to anyone on the team. I'm concerned that this may be a phishing attempt but don't want to be rude.

Do companies monitor zoom calls

At my house in FL and appeared in court (in IL) via zoom with an orange polo shirt and blue terrycloth blazer. I thought it worked. Judge asked me where I was. I told him. Is Zoom still making us all looking like we’re on a cruise even on business calls?

Is there anyone out there happy to do free case interview sessions via zoom with me? I am ANZ based. I am working full-time, so can only have the sessions after work .

I hate big law. I don’t even think I want to be a lawyer anymore. I suck at it. If you were in my position, would you start looking for new jobs and quit when ready, or would you just slack off in big law until you get fired?

Is United airlines Wi-Fi strong enough to support a zoom call? Need to “listen in” only. Any first hand experiences would be appreciated

I went to a job fair last week and was excited when a recuiter had contacted me. They scheduled a meeting with me but minutes prior to the meeting I noticed that they did not provide me with their contact information or zoom ID or phone number. Anyways I sent an email stating my concerns and they never got back to me.

Is this normal??

Has anyone who works remotely been laid off recently from their company due to a restructure? How was the process? Did your manager and HR conduct via TEAMS or Zoom?

Does anyone else hate it when you get substantive work requests via messaging like Slack (as opposed to email)? Our culture is very slack heavy but I really prefer email for that kind of thing. I want to institute some kind basic requisition process (like a form that requires all the basic info we need and send it to email) but there’s some resistance to the idea. Has anyone successfully implemented that kind of thing when there was not such a process previously? Any tips?

I’ve done a number of shoots over zoom, but I’m about to do my first shoot in person. It will be a 3 day shoot abroad. Any tips on what I should and shouldn’t do on set?

Anyone combine ADHD meds with Nootropics? I do a lot of work in the startup/VC community and it seems everyone in that world is obsessed with nootropics. They have private message boards, meetups, etc., just to discuss the topic. I know at least a half dozen companies that have very active Slack channels on the topic where everyone from the CEO on down debates various cocktails, programs, brands.

Am I missing something? Last I read the research was VERY inconclusive.

Sat on 2 interviews back to back today, and essentially violently threw up in between(flu), and had to get right back on with the next person with vomit on the ends of my hair.

Thank god for “touch up my appearance” on Zoom.

I once had an interview with a McKinsey partner who mentioned she lived on Slack and received 5-600 emails per day, which to this day boggles my mind. Was she embellishing or is that a feasible number in your world? And if that is feasible, how do you manage, organize, and prioritize so many incoming emails? And is it mostly EAs responding or are you essentially living your entire day on emails, because I'd imagine there could be better uses for your time?
