Can we all just collectively as a society come to a consensus on whether to turn video on for zoom calls? I’m honestly fine either way, but the suspense and anxiety every time I join a new call is killing me.

Had an interview for a Business Ops Associate role today and asked what the next steps were and told it would be a slack interview after doing an automation in Zapier test. I was told I'd have time to do the case when I said I never used Zapier before. Then suddenly they have a sudden rush to hire and email me at 11 pm their time asking in the morning to have the test completed and an interview later in the day followed by final interview Wed?

Any idea whats going on here?

I’m launching a new project. Seeking recs for a platform like Monday dot com, Notion, or other. I need to collaborate with members, share a calendar, high level schedule, budget with consolidated expense data, documents and allow for chat (like embed slack) or list Q&A. Thoughts? Please let me know if you tried tools and love them - or dropped them because of complexity or lack of adoption. Thank you!!

I start a new job tomorrow, but I’ll be virtual the first few weeks to organize my move. Unfortunately, my boss won’t be available to help with onboarding, but he’s assigned a peer to help me out. Still, I feel weird onboarding virtually. Do I just login to Teams and introduce myself to my new staff or what? Schedule a zoom meeting? Lol. Any other advice on 1) onboarding virtually, or 2) onboarding as manager to an existing team? (Cont)

Are folks still getting pretty dressed up for in-person interviews these days? I’ve had two zoom interviews, 1st with an HR director, 2nd with the project team. Tomorrow I have a 3rd, in-person with the executive team. Not sure how many stops to pull out.

I had a zoom first interview on Wednesday. I feel like it went well, but having not interviewed in 5 years I was a bit rusty in some of my answers. He mentioned he had a couple more interviews to the middle of next week and they would circle back. I sent a thank you email to both the recruiter and the interviewer but did not hear back. Thoughts on that? I’ve usually gotten a response.

Excited to be moving to Dallas from out of state and signed a lease a few days ago. Didn’t do as much research as I’d like or see the area/the place in person (saw the place via zoom) so kinda rushed through it. I haven’t moved in yet, but after doing some more research, I am having second thoughts and considering terminating my lease. Thinking about getting a lawyer involved. Has anyone here been in a similar situation, would love to get your thoughts and how you approached it. TIA.

I just onboarded to a project and it was straight to business. Like no hi I'm so and so, I just appeared in a meeting and someone said "oh your new" and carried on.

Also, I'm the only one who turns their camera on. I don't do it or expect it all the time but when you're meeting people I think it's good... I have legitimately worked with people for a month and never seen them outside of the floating head shot on zoom. I guess no one cares to get to know each other anymore... 😕

Hi all! Curious how many presentations/ intro meetings are in person vs virtual right now. I’m in the production space and most of my sales meetings / intro pitches are still zoom but I’m pushing that honestly but wondering how others are doing it.

I have been interviewing with a company for three weeks. One zoom call one week one zoom call the following and then finally an on-site meeting including the president and A tour of the facility. At the end of the interview the president said I would hear from them within 24 hours. It has now been two days and I have not heard from the recruiter the HR Director that would be my manager nor anyone else that I’ve interviewed with. Do I send an email to ask about an update? I’m very antsy! Thank

I work at Lyft and this is the second hiring freeze in 6 months. I was in the process of interviewing for a Internal position and now the process is paused. It’s not looking too good. Can anyone refer me to Microsoft, Slack, Salesforce, Accenture and Amazon? Basically any where at this point.

Business Analyst (Internal Hire) working in freight technology knowing I am incredibly underpaid.

I’m in my 2nd month as an internal hire (formerly a Pricing Analyst). I did negotiate for a higher salary when I made the transition receiving nothing but the promise of a conversation to reevaluate in three months.

I’ve been able to hit the ground running, picking up the slack, and have delivered tickets as if I was already a Business Analyst.

Recently started at a big 4 and I am absolutely astounded (and slightly disgusted) at the use of PDFs used for support. Why am I having to zoom it 300% to see the number on a workpaper? And why are we PDFing excel worksheets to PDF as our support, therefore I can't see if there's any formula errors or hardkeyed numbers.

For reference, yes, I can still go to the actual excel document to confirm this, but my question is, why in the world are we PDFing EVERYTHING into ONE document?
