Should I transition to Data Engineering instead?

I wasn’t sure which bowl to solicit advice from so hoping to catch a bite here. I’m currently in ID. Of course, I want OUT! My interests are L&E and corporate. My options are 1) wait it out where I am in hopes to switch to L&E or 2) in house oil and gas industry transactional work. What would you do and why? I figured this bowl being specific to Texas would understand importance of oil and gas industry.

My company contracts a web developer, we have a set amount of hours for the quarter and pay over if more work is needed.
He never gets anything done. Doesn’t answer emails half the time. The one thing he’s done was take out a blurb that threatened our eligibility for patent renewal.
We have another company taking over in January, but I still have some pretty important dev needs until then and I can’t get him to do a thing. I truly try to give him all he needs.

Hi everyone, I am looking for a new opportunity in healthcare consulting or operations. I have 7 years of healthcare experience. Education: MPA - Healthcare admin, CPHQ, working on LSSGB. I have expertise in quality improvement/management, gap closing strategies, provider education and process improvement (workflow wizard). I have been looking for my next step to no avail. I’ve had to step away from social media for my own mental sanity as I have a major issue with comparing myself to peers when it comes to life stages.
