Hi there! I need some guidance. HR and global leadership rolled out some amazing new initiatives like not starting until 10 am on Mondays, no meeting Fridays and required 2 additional summer days a month. The problem is, my boss refuses to comply with the initiatives. He constantly scheduled meetings before 8 am on Mondays and after 7 pm on Fridays. He also doesn’t let me take time off. Should I go to HR? I’m really not one to complain but I’m tired and extremely burnt out. Thanks for your help!

What is your policy on a rehire and how you handle accrual rates for PTO, do you start over? Do you have a window like if they return within 6 months it stays with original hire date? Do you handle this differently when it is a layoff? I tried to find best practices in this but not finding anything.

Question for you sales and saas guys. I work for a fast growing startup and we are billing around 200 K a month. I am in charge of the sales team and our CFO mandates that we collect ACH payment information on every agreement. The problem with this is we have to reel in micro deposit amounts from customers and it feels like herding cats. I’ve worked for three great tech companies and I’ve never had ACH nor have I ever paid for services with ACH. Is this a totally dated process?

Need to define diverse talent metrics to create a scorecard. Challenge is that the available data is based on opting in/out of self identification, that data point can change dramatically YOY. Any recommendations on metrics and scorecard?

Any strategies or resources you could recommend for getting rid of the dreaded annual performance review (or at least lessening the dread) and creating a more effective year round performance feedback system? Our review is currently tied to our end of year bonuses and merit increases, so not sure I could get rid of it entirely. This would be for hourly and management employees, all working on-site.

I am a five year experienced professional I do have an experience into HR generalist activities such as onboarding, exits, employees engagement, little on HRBP, offshore HR services, I am not sure how to go about my career from here I am not getting any new good opportunities. I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

Interview question help. I had an interview a few months ago at a VC firm. One of the questions was name a company/industry you’d want the firm to invest in and why. I talked about ghost kitchens and how they were growing even before Covid. I couldn’t think of a technology though. Does anyone have insight into how they would answer that question? Needless to say I didn’t get to the next round

Wish you could put pay raise on the resume (yearly % increase). Why? My title hasn't changed in a while but I'm getting pay bumps at every review . I make more than ACDs and some CDs at my agency (fact checked). A result of the ECD (the one to approve promotions) not caring for the account I'm on so no visibility. My direct report CD sees my worth and makes sure to keep me financially happy using his budget. I'm not on the "sexy" clients but the ones keeping the lights on and I'm good at it.

2nd year associate here. Has anyone made a jump from a boutique firm to big law? I found out that I’m a front runner for a gig with an Amlaw 100. I never thought I’d have this chance having graduated from an unranked law school and still being so junior. Even though the firm asked if I’d be willing to start as a 1st year given my lack of litigation experience, it’s still a monumental upgrade/ jump. I’m nervous about the culture shock and whether I’ll cut it. Could really use some advice!
