Amazon, Berkshire, JPMorgan name Atul Gawande CEO of healthcare venture Any insiders know what is going on here?
I want in on this new Healthcare company being formed by Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, and JP Morgan. This industry needs serious disruption. Ways to network to get foot (even a toe) in that door?
I’ve made up my mind to fall in love with reading more. What are your top books of 2019? I typically prefer non-fiction —philosophy/organizational excellent/leadership/science

Anyone at Guidehouse know if they reimburse CPE required for certifications? Such as for CPA, etc. as well as any membership fees?
Baby just turned 6 month and I have been back to work for a month. Current company (in house) provides no WLB and I am thinking of going back to PA. SO thinks I am out of my mind, but I really need PA flexibility. Any advice?
We have a fixed PTO time plan (very generous) but leftover rates by now are enormous. It’s gonna be about 160 hours of unused PTO per employee in the end of the year, and we only rollover 80. We thought about rolling over everything, but then accruals get too high. Does anyone have creative ideas how we can roll over excessive hours and don’t make them wages at the same time...
In your opinion which is the best level to move to industry? In tech strategy if it’s relevant.... having issues in relationship because of travel 😒
I get mistaken as a student at the school I work at. How can I establish my authority in the classroom as well as on campus?
Just started at an agency in NY as a resource associate (entry level) but starting to be unsure about salary band...what’s the industry standard against how many years of experience you have ?
I feel like I’m on the outside looking in and I don’t like what I see. I haven’t returned to teaching this year because I was overwhelmed by what was being asked of us and chose to use all of my sick time instead. From this perspective, I see teachers being used and abused. I see teachers asking questions about situations that should never be tolerated. We are the professionals. Why are we allowing this? It’s the Stockholm Syndrome for education. We provide a valuable service. Remember that.
Does the workload lesson over time, or do you just get used to the longer hours? Hmmmm...
Would anyone be willing to chat who made the jump from big 4 —> tech —> MBB? I did not have a great experience in tech and looking to pivot back into consulting. Went to a non-target undergrad but 10 YOE at good firms.
Just decided to go independent. Having trouble finding work as a contractor with other consulting firms. How do you get projects with the MBBs, Big 4, etc? I only know about pwc talent exchange...
Has anyone tried having a flipped classroom? I read that it reduces the amount of homework/work students have to do outside of class.
Thinking about exiting consulting with 2YOE and would love to get perspective on what people felt like was the most important aspects to optimize for early in their career/life that has set them up for success in the long term - e.g. good manager, learning opportunities, level of ownership/responsibility, comp, or even better WLB to figure out their interests
Ladies who also abide by the “expecting better” philosophy that a glass of wine every once in a while is totally fine during pregnancy… I am going to a work women’s happy hour tomorrow. Yay or nay on using my weekly glass of wine? (I am clearly pregnant and people know I am pregnant). I kind of want to but I also fear the judgement and having to explain myself…
I worked for Deloitte and currently with PwC. I’m not comparing both but PwC is too worse in terms of work life balance and work culture. If Deloitte is given 90, PwC might get something between 20-30 is what I feel. All they need is robots working for their tasks. I do agree it depends on the manager sometimes and trust me he is the worst. Any comments on work culture and work@life balance in PwC SDC Bangalore ?? Is it only me or is there any one who shares similar views?? PwC
