People that started off on an F1 Visa, any advice on the H1B process? Did you stay or leave? Did you apply via multiple companies? Pls share. Thanks.
David&Goliath is dedicated to helping challenger brands outsmart and outperform the competition. Being a challenger brand is about a mindset, not a market position. It's the same mindset that drives us to be more observant, innovative and brave. It’s why we dig deeper to find and identify consumer behaviors that others overlook. It’s why our strategic and creative ideas are more compelling and more human. It’s also why we offer integrated creative capabilities that enable us to be nimble enough to move and adapt at the speed of the market. And, lastly, it’s why we’re brave enough to question the status quo rather than follow the lead of others.
I’ve been trying to find another job for so long, that I think I’m just not good enough to work anywhere else other than my current agency. Have anyone dealt with that, ever?
This week's tech/tool review. is Mind Meister. I use this tool to form a "brain map" of my sales process. I keep a template map and when I get a new deal of significance I use it to make a new map. Since I am process-driven these maps help me keep track of what part of the sale cycle I am in. It also allows me to review past engagement to see how I can make my future pursuits more successful. Give it a look.
Curious about CDs choosing film directors. After you’ve selected a shortlist of directors, what impresses you / makes you lean towards a director during the treatment / call process?
I refuse to believe separate strategies for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter generates enough value to justify the cost in incremental billable hours over just posting the same stuff to all channels.
Has anyone gone from account into production? If so, how have you navigated the stigma of being an account person with your creatives in a more creative-focused role? Worried creatives will write me off because of my account background.
Negotiations ? - assumed an offer was coming from Company A, when it arrived it didn’t completely match talks, turns out recruiter was creative and now total comp package is 14% off target.
Is it just me or comments like “best compliment i ever received, you’re not like any HR” implying that in general HR people are the worst are an offense against profession? I get it, we’re always the ones to blame, but when our own peers do that?
I one hundred percent believe Juneteenth should be a national holiday, and thankfully my agency is observing it today. Is there anyone else out there feeing just slightly salty about the fact that I still have to use PTO for my religious holidays? And above that, it often falls within a pitch and I just end up working regardless. I know the two aren’t mutually exclusive and I’m also aware it’s not the right time to bring it up with HR. Just battling some bitterness I guess?
I hate sales. I didn’t used to hate sales but I hate sales right now. I work for one of America’s most well know suppliers and the product/service I am selling is allowing my company to profit from this shit. We are a leader in janitorial supplies and I know I am doing very important work but I can see our profit margins and there is no reason we should be allow to sell $$ millions of PPE at a 30% margin.... Thoughts?
It's great to finally have a bowl of our own! In terms of HCM software, what is something that all of them tend to be missing, aside from a good user experience?
Anyone have tips on how to best clarify client briefings with clients? Is there a list of must-ask questions? Our clients often don’t know what they want and I feel like we’re not asking enough/right questions to narrow down on objectives and deliverables. Even when we align on objectives, it still ends up in changing/adding request once they see creative development. Simply want to avoid having too many rounds of revisions as they often want to “test and see” numerous amount of versions.
Has anyone in creative bought a house or apartment? I’m in NYC and trying to pull trigger but fear of job instability and layoffs is crippling me w indecision. Apts ain’t cheap
My leadership of a startup in California is very anti-COVID restrictions and has recently said that they want to force employees to come into the office, no exceptions, even though our County is still in the highest restriction level. None of our roles require anyone to be in the office to complete their responsibilities. They also don't want to follow guidelines (like masks), but I think they'd be willing to somewhat if they were forcing people in. Anyone have advice here and how you are supporting leadership through this? I don't know of any fines related to bucking the restrictions. I do know about the mandatory reporting implemented by Gov. Newsom, but that's extent of it. How are you handling this at your company?
Was just told that I wasn’t ideal to work on a product/client because I’m pregnant and the product/client is a smoking device. Irks me that my fit is being judged by my physical situation. (cont.)
Rejected after five rounds of interviews, all of them included cases. Previous feedback was all "impressive". Now it's suddenly "you don't have the right skills". Last interviewer explicitly said his case was a new ask given to him by his manager and that he needed help from my answers. Frustrated regarding how much time I spent for this role. Should have realized sooner there was something wrong given several of their cases sounded so specific and related to their own projects.
Bored waiting for my flight. What’s the most exciting or dramatic thing that happened on your project this week?
Holiday parties & gifts! Curious - what do all the different firms, and groups do for holiday parties? Does anyone's employer give them any end of year gifts? I always see it TV lol
Anyone here manage social media accounts for a federal agency? What’s your best client social media story, good or bad!
What is equivalent of the happy feeling of working remote next week and knowing that I don't have to wake up at 3:00am tomorrow
Anyone familiar with Bluestar bioadvisors ? Type of work? Culture? How highly regarded in industry? Thx
Will your counselor (Manager/Senior Manager) write you Letter of Recommendation for the MBA application?
USA 🐠: Does your company provide mental wellness therapy consultations through insurance? How much do you have to pay out of pocket for an hour’s session? What are some of the challenges you face in setting up consults, finding the right therapist, and seeing improvements? How could the experience be improved? PS. This is for a project with a client in this space. Would really appreciate your help :)
I’ve noticed companies are starting to ask if you wish to identify if you’re LGBTQ+ when applying for jobs. When I’ve gone along with this I notice recruiters focus more on diversity and employee groups, and it’s making me feel like I’m being interviewed as a potential diversity hire, especially when I’ve received interviews from companies that are prone to boy’s club culture. I’m not really sure how I feel about this. Anyone else experience it or have thoughts?
Thinking about going back to school. Online. Currently 19 weeks pregnant. Has any other moms done this? Opinions? Tips?
Wasn’t it already a known fact in 2016 that DJT didn’t pay any taxes? He openly admitted to it by saying it makes him “smart”. I don’t get all the hype about this in here the last 30 minutes.
