As an Afghanistani male, I hate having to list 'Asian' on MBA applications. Given my name they probably think I'm Indian and the Afghani community is heavily underrepresented in business/tech/Finance
A friend 🐠 was fired for accidentally sending confidential info to the wrong client and is worried about her chances of landing a new gig. How much should she tell the prospective employer about it?
Any tips/thoughts/examples on thank you emails to M/SM after roll off? I really enjoyed working for them and we got to know each other well. Would 100% want to work for them again.
Finally got my YE! Was hoping to at least get a 3 after hearing about all the layoffs and the 4's going around. Got a 2 and I am EXTREMELY relieved! 🙌🏻🎉 Now I can really start my weekend! 😎🍾
What kind of questions would be generally preferable for interviewees to ask to interviewer on the final round interview?
People leaving after a year or two out of undergrad for industry jobs.. what kind of role can you expect? PM? BA?
My company promised me a promotion that was ultimately postponed indefinitely due to COVID. Rather than stay, I am now seeking new opportunities! Would love to hear about any companies currently hiring (anyone going through a hiring frenzy?) Referrals and advice/tips are more than welcomed! 😊 Thanks to all for reading :))
Long story short: I work for a small healthcare consulting firm. Since COVID, I was going to the office once a week, every Wednesday. Today, I have put on my 2 weeks because I accepted an offer from a big 4. During my last 2 weeks, I had planned to see my family for the first week, and go to the office on my final week. Also today, my boss asks me to come in the office everyday next week. Should I say I don’t feel comfortable and just don’t go?What’s the worst it happen? Get fired lol
When you're the only non-local person on a project and the EM acts like you're "late" on Monday since you have to fly in. I've been up since 4.
What to wear for industry webex interview? Is a shirt and jacket enough? Feel silly if I wear a tie
Can anyone in Houston recommend a hot skill to look into and get certified in that will create local opportunities? I want to be local but the bench is so deep right now.
I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed from my current project. Everything from not understanding the current process, the technology, etc and I feel like I’m being pulled in a thousand directions. I feel like I’m slipping and I’m unbelievably stressed out where I’m having a hard time sleeping and it’s impacting my personal life. I’ve let my director know there’s a capacity issue, but there’s no end of this madness in site. What should I do? I don’t know what to do and I’m starting to lose my mind.
I have a 3 day vacation scheduled in mid-May and I wanna put my 2 weeks notice too. Is it ok being on vacation inside your last 2 weeks?
Accenture folks, what are your thoughts on the regional travel model and what’s your per diem policy?
Anybody having difficulty getting medical experts to respond lately? Even in non-covid practice areas?
Do my MBB peeps who transitioned from a Big 4 firm notice a difference in the hours they work? Is it substantially more hours, or roughly the same?
Mediocre college/ grades (lack of direction), convinced consulting is an unequivocal match for my professional disposition - How do I overcome impossibility and land a consulting job at MBB or big 4?
What do B4 equity partner packages look like in Europe? I’ve been offered a move back into consulting.
Does anyone use a “career coach” not necessarily a head hunter but someone who helps you get thinking. This is potential end goals, these are steps to take in your career, these are where your interests lie, this would be a good fit you see the idea. The other side of helping find the job, negotiating salary and other services would be the nice to have but I’m looking more for the coach. If you have used them what’s your experience? Worth the cost?
What do you think when you see someone’s calendar and it’s packed wall to wall for days on end or for weeks out? Multiple overlapping appointments and invites from early AM to after 6pm. Are these people really that busy and, when it’s someone on your career/promotion track, is this what I have to look forward to?? How do you get anything done?
Pros and cons of renting out a spare bedroom in my 2br apt given curent situation? Could really use the money, but afraid that roommate would not be responsible with COVID (i.e hanging with lots of people, not wearing mask in public etc.) I feel everyone will tell you they would be before they move in, but then what if that’s not the case?
Thoughts on the value of having an MBA in Canada (say M7 or INSEAD)? Useful for a non business undergrad? Can't quite tell if it's as important as in the US.
Are there any resources for case prep in Boston? I have interviews lined up and would like to practice with someone
Starting a new job in a few weeks and won’t be able to take any vaca once I do. Any suggestions on places I should go for a week? Taking into account flight + lodging etc. Have done most of W Europe
Started a new job in Jan and just as I got project work the pandemic hit. Feeling extremely overwhelmed and as if I have no help since we are all working remote now. Any suggestions or feedback on how to improve my situation? the other consultant on my project is sometimes helpful, when it’s convenient for them but I feel really annoying and as if I need my hand held since it’s my first project. Any suggestions or feedback would be helpful
Bored waiting for my flight. What’s the most exciting or dramatic thing that happened on your project this week?
@MBB alums. When reaching out to an alum for a role, is it better to straight up state my qualifications and ask for a referral or should I play the long game and ask for a call to learn about cont..
This is not work from home, it’s work at home. I can feel the unrest among managers as they check up on you every 30 mins and dilute all professional and personal boundaries
