Hi all, our company is looking for 2 HRBPs: 1 based in the states and 1 in Canada. Do you have any suggestions for postings other the the regular LinkedIn/ indeed?
Hi! Has anyone completed the diversity and inclusion certificate online through Cornell university? Thoughts? Worth it? Helpful in your career? Thanks!!
Anyone actually keep their PHR active? I got my cert in 2013 and have done nothing since.
I have a year of experience in recruiting but I am looking to transition into the Talent Development/Organizational Development space in the industry. Would a Masters degree in I/O or OD be better for this? I would love any advice on this!
Do recommendations on LinkedIn provide any value to potential employers? Do recruiters look at them? What do recruiters look at on a LinkedIn profile?
I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
Has anyone found value in the “Josh Bersin Academy” membership? They are offering 20% off an annual subscription so my interest is piqued.
Are you all utilizing more retention bonuses to try to help control attrition? Trying to get a sense of it’s been a successful tactic for your organization or if you’re doing anything else to reduce regrettable exits.
Does anyone have a framework or other resources for scaling up a small workforce in a strategic way?
Hi all I have started a new post as a sales manager for a Fibre optics company, I feel I have been thrown in the deep end and asked to swim, it's a small company and want me to head up the sales team for corporate companies, also asked me to put together a marketing strategy
Has anyone implemented Workday without experiencing massive regrets? It seems to be far more complicated to run advanced reports, export data timely, and be productive from a reporting standpoint. Also, has anyone had any luck with Reed Group as their leave management vendor? I’ve implemented Reed Group with both Lawson and Workday and the results have been abysmal each time from an integration standpoint.
@snyk Does anyone work at (or know someone that works at) the company SNYK? If so, what’s it like being in sales there?
Anyone prepping for the SHRM-CP test? I’m taking a prep course this fall and would love tips or to know if there are any study groups out there!
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)
Anyone got a six figure base as an AE? Hunting around for companies with 6-fig base and similar commission. Seems to be mostly field / enterprise pay.
For those of you who have gone the HR consulting route, any advice on starting out? I just fell into an opportunity that is too good to pass up. I'm not planning to leave my day job at this point, but I'm certainly interested in the prospect of growing a consultancy.
Microsoft Teams is driving me crazy. I feel like I’m always at work. Yesterday I was at a family bbq and I was constantly getting pinged. Every time I get a message notification I feel like I’m about to have a panic attack.
So I started at a new role at a known retailer about 2 months ago. I am their first hire in this role, as I have more than 5 years of relevant experience leading initiatives and optimizing process across departments. While I understand it takes time to adjust to the culture, its seems like all I have witnessed is resistance to change. I already feel myself not wanting to be here long, but I'm putting pressure on myself to not be a quitter. Would you stick it out or start looking?
Long term goal is to be a tech entrepreneur. I was all set and had my decision not to get an MBA, but then I checked LinkedIn. For almost every major tech company founded by a consulting alum, they all have MBAs. Am I missing something major here?
Does 401k count as savings?
Anyone know if it’s possible to get into McKinsey as an experienced hire without a big referral? I’ve applied to several jobs and not sure if it’s even worth it. Always been a dream to work there...
Looking to create a tool we can use for stakeholder relationship tracking. We want to be able to hear a clients name, look them up in the tool, see info about their role and department, and see which of our consultants have worked with them before and on what projects. Trying to think of an easy to use, interactive tool beyond something like excel. What’s something you’ve used for this before? Don’t think we’ll be going as far as purchasing a license for a CRM software
So I just got back from the consulate and my visa was approved. My NIE eligibility, on the other hand, got severely scrutinized but in the end I received a small paper (just a few lines on a blank piece of paper) saying my NIE is approved. The consular officer did however say that it is subject to further investigation and may ultimately be denied. This got me quite confused. Anyone else that has had the same? Can I still be denied at the border?
I did my master’s in computer science and currently a management consultant. Does this have any impact while Pwc files h1b for me as far as my role in the organization is concerned.
What is required to roll off a project at K?
MBB folks on H1-B who recently switched to FAANG - did you run into any issues with visa transfer? My transfer has been filed and I’m a bit nervous about USCIS’ perception of consultants and the current sentiment around H1-B visas.
If you project ends right around when you turn in 2 week notice, will most company let you go immediately or honor your 2 weeks? Those 2 weeks will just be bench weeks then. (I’m Not going to a competitor).
Anyone use Ivy MBA consulting? http://www.ivymbaconsulting.com/ I’m between them and Harold at MissionMBA (stratus before)
Anyone been to the Harvard Extension School - Consultant’s Toolkit program? Any insights to share?
New EY expense policy just owned, no more Amex Plat reimbursement and mobile capped at $60 for all? WTF uncle Ernie.
If I won't be needing health insurance from a full time gig could I ask that be added to my paycheck?
