Recently got hired as an Associate @ GH, I have 3YOE. My salary is in the low 70s. From the people I’ve spoken with, they say I was lowballed. Was I? Trying to figure out if I am being paid fairly

I’d love to discuss best practices for leave management. Anyone have any tips on which systems to leverage (HRIS, etc.) and approval workflow that they’d like to share? 🙂
Am I the only one that finds it cheesy when a sales coach or anyone else for that matter quotes themselves?
We all self-promote sometimes. You simply have to if you’re going to survive or get work in this business. But a few minutes ago I got a message from some guy named Fred Goldberg. No message/note just a link to his book & image comparing his to Ogilvy’s. Even as someone who’s had to do his own PR for personal projects & sell things, this just seemed cheesy & shameless & really amateur. Blocked. Anybody else get this shameless, hamfisted LinkedIn plug from this dude?
From your experience, how do the work cultures abroad compare to the work culture in the US? Not a huge fan of the gregarious work style here, so interesting in seeing if it’s similar in other places.
An agency wide email: We will be evaluating all employee salary in the upcoming fiscal quarter to make sure that we are compensating everyone with fair market value. Happy April Fools everyone.
Are there remote Account roles out there, or do you know of any specific agencies that are open to hiring remote ADs?
Got a very generous reimbursement amount for moving expenses and wanna make sure I use as much as I can. What items /services have you gotten away with expensing on a move?
You would think someone by now would’ve created a zoom mock-up PSD file by now. But, no. I guess I got to make it from scratch. But, If you have one let me know!
If I worked a full weekend and a few 12-14 hour days this past week, am I able to ask for a free day off? I need a day off and don’t want to use my PTO when my weekend was taken away
Was the flu especially hard to get over this year ? I started feeling ill 16 december, was in hell roundabout Christmas eve, and am still having occasional minor symptoms of relapse
At an agency that knows the creative is mediocre but truly doesn’t care. I’m so unmotivated. Any tips?
Considering moving out of a big city to somewhere more affordable. My agency is operating fully virtually. What are my obligations, if any, to ask my employer permission to move?
Is the GW Analyst Certification worth it? Do the industry employers value people having it vs. not ?
Just got promoted to manager. It’s done more to confirm that PA isn’t right for me long term. The fact that I’ll eventually need to sell services at some point (I really don’t like selling) in addition to how awful office politics can get (I’m just now getting a taste now that I have access to more meetings) makes me want out ASAP. Since I’m at a mid-tier/regional firm, I’m wondering what I can do to put myself in the best position to find a job in industry. Any insight would be appreciated.
The number one benefit of consulting is: if I hate you I don't have to work with you...ever again on another project. 💥
For those who were laid off / counseled out / etc, what did you tell prospective employers and how did they take it?
6 figure salary language: I know we are still in a world where saying 6 figure salary means something, but people also said 6 figure salary decades ago when it was more than double its value today, and may have even used the terminology when it was worth many times its value today (I don’t have the full history on when it first became popular terminology.). Do we see the terminology “6 figure salary,” used in esteemed terms, going away any time soon?
8 weeks pregnant. Coincidentally chatted with a recruiter about a WFH job (some occasional travel to hub city) with comp equal to what I make now. Maybe interested, but feel like I’d be giving up...
What is the best message when informing the rest of your company that someone was terminated? The backstory is that this employees performance has been struggling, he was put on a PIP, and in recent convos, he’s said that his role isn’t for him. As he is getting terminated due to performance, it feels more amicable now that he knows it’s not working and that he needs to find a new job. Thoughts on message to the rest of the company?
Been leading the same project for over two years now with a few associates (they only came around at the 1 year mark). Needless to say, incredibly fed up with the client, the work (project is horribly scoped), and the lack of support I get from my PPMD (although he loves my work and has said multiple times he wants me for every project). How do I best approach rolling off (let’s pretend there’s no COVID situation now) without burning bridges?
Spent 10y in Big 4 mainly in US and Europe. Interviewing for Associate Partner position with an MBB in SE Asia. Would a ~5y stint in the region be an asset if I wanted to return back to US but remain with the hiring firm? Or is it a rabbit hole?
Does anyone have any recommendations for what they’ve use in the past to practicing case studies? Interviewing again for the first time in years. TIA!
Has anyone negotiated unique or odd benefits or compensation when they went to industriy? Such as employer pays for CPE classes if the person wants to keep their CPA active, etc.
Watched Duckweed on Delta Studio. Was so unexpectedly good! Cinematic gold. High recommend if you're bored on the plane.
