What’s a good way to advocate for yourself as an employee? I struggle with how to make the work I’m completing/my efforts sound impactful.
Lowe's Companies, Inc.
Are any of your companies tying compensation to DE&I metrics? If yes, how’s it working? Has it changed the needle? Why it why not?
What are HR folks seeing as an average cost for payroll providers? I'm going through demos with Paycor and would like to know what a reasonable breakdown is for payroll, time & attendance, onboarding, etc. How do you measure? Cost per employee? Any help is appreciated!
There is a former employee who made some questionable purchases with his company credit card. Are we allowed to deduct them from his last paycheck?
Is it just me or comments like “best compliment i ever received, you’re not like any HR” implying that in general HR people are the worst are an offense against profession? I get it, we’re always the ones to blame, but when our own peers do that?
Curious, how many companies out there have a dedicated learning and development team? If you don't, who is responsible for the development of your employees?
How are your companies handling employees wanting to work from anywhere (any US state) now that the remote situation is still ongoing (with no end in some cities)? Are you allowing it for a certain amount of days/months? It’s been the bane of my work existence lately!
Has anyone seen or discussed this Petition for SHRM must support Black Lives Matter & the LGBTQ community? I’ve grown increasingly concerned and disappointed in SHRM’s lack of vocal support for employment protections for LGBTQ+ and black and brown workers, especially as a black woman in HR. It seems like SHRM is overly focused on what is absolutely “legal” and not what is right. I’m of the opinion HR professionals must not only be “legal” but have a relevant and compassionate stance
Extremely fed up with my role and I don’t think I want to work here anymore, I’m just not happy. Does anyone know any companies hiring in HR? I would love to work in the the health/wellness industry or social media/lifestyle.
I’m curious to see what the average pay for a campus recruiter in NYC is. I’m one year into this role, came in entry level, and already got promoted, but I want to make sure I’m getting fairly compensated. Any other recruiters here?
What are some remote employee team engagement ideas that have been working for you? Thursday afternoon social Zoom chats, etc. Burnout is real and our teams are facing it across service lines.
Has anyone written the CHRL Employment Exam in Canada - Ontario specifically. What was your experience like and how did you prepare?
My dream job was to be a research associate. It’s something I love. Other than putting my kidney up as collateral, how does one get into a RA role? Really would love some insight.
Has anyone been told over and over again about how little HR salaries are? I’m thinking about a career shift because I need an upward climb in salary
Has anyone ever de-coupled compensation from titles? With covid/ uncertain economy we can’t afford to give raises, but I’d like employees to see career progression and personal growth as they are working their a$$es off
Deloitte: bad to say no to first project offered to you if it doesn't align with what you want to do? (Even if partner and leader of sector asks)
Can you reapply to McK within 2 years? How are they tracking your application and what are some exceptions?
Hey Folk, I am in a dilemma. I have an interview coming up with Amazon this week. I have already got my interview rescheduled twice, do you think it would be okay if I get my interview rescheduled or get it cancelled. Going for this interview definitely means to be on the path of rejection. I am afraid if I get it cancelled or rescheduled, Amazon might black list me based on the fact that I delayed the interview twice. What do you guys suggest ? What should I say to the recruiter?
I have a pretty decent job (very rewarding and prestigious) with great WLB and tons of flexibility, but low pay (£46k) in a pretty LCOL city (cont).
Everyone says to max out 401k, but at 70k a year, should I really be putting 26% of each paycheck into retirement? Is that realistically what new grads do?
✈️💺The guy next to me is on his phone and keeping it angled perfectly for reflecting the sun in my eyes. I'm holding up a magazine to avoid it. 1st world problems, but geez...
Billing at $15k/week, pretty sure that's the same thing Richard Gere paid in Pretty Woman, inflation adjusted
Don’t know why, but I am not feeling afraid of getting laid off. And also I don’t feel like pushing to get another job in case that happens. I am fed up with this visa nonsense, the corporate slavery they have in name of H1B. And also this whole world in turmoil due to covid has left me thinking what better i could do to add value to the society. Adding to the agony of American dream is the civil unrest in US, trump again for 4 years, more guns, absurdity of USCIS etc.
Recieved job offer signed and everything but dont start til feb. put in 2 weeks now and take time off or wait until Jan? I am on a project that would suffer without me. I am not going to a competitor.
When on interviews what is a good strategy to convey your experience in testing areas. I have a lot of experience auditing different areas but much of it is testing finished workbooks and maybe I I just explain it poorly.
Anyone ever stayed in Vienna? Option between Hotel Bristol (luxury collection) and Ritz for 9 nights. I'm working towards SPG 75, but if Ritz is significantly better, I'll suck it up... 😋
Senior 1/2 Performance based bonus in EY — assurance service line - NE. Average to above average rating. Any data points would be helpful.
A recruiter from an agency reached out to me for a senior copywriter role in San Diego. I have 3 years of experience. I feel like that hardly qualifies for a senior role. Why would they reach out?🚩
