Any thoughts on Vedder Price, corp group?
What is reasonable salary when taking billable rate into account? I’ve heard one third of billable rate x billable hour expectation. Hoping to provide some back up when I negotiate my raise in January.
Have an offer in hand for an AmLaw100 lockstep. Corporate / M&A mid level associate. Didn’t use a recruiter (attorney referral from inside firm). Mostly satisfied with the offer. Procedurally how should I go about negotiating things like signing bonus, full bonus vs pro rated bonus / Covid bonus eligibility? Obviously this would normally be done recruiter to recruiter. Do I contact the internal recruiter or one of the head partners I interviewed with? Email vs call?
Anyone here a member of Revenue Collective? Is it worth it? What kind of value have you gotten out of it if so? Thanks!
I would like to help those wanting to shift careers in HR, minorities, or women going back to the workforce, learn workday coding and ultimately help them get a job in the space. Is there any interest?
Currently, I am recruiting or trying to recruit without LinkedIn Recruiter. Management is having a hard time seeing the ROI from LinkedIn Recruiter because they have never used it. Most of my experience in recruiting has been using LinkedIn Recruiter as my go to source. Is there anything I can do to convince them otherwise? Or are there any other resources that can help me fill all of my open positions? We use JazzHR for our ATS and free job boards through JazzHR.
Does anyone have any creative ideas on what my company can do for May Mental Health month?
How much nonbillable time is too much? I’m a second associate at a midsized firm and I have 30-50 non billable hours each month. An associate at another firm told me this was really high. Thoughts?
1) Billable ID attorneys, HOW do you consistently bill 8-10 hours a day. Idk how to bill besides that you need to do it immediately. And 2, how long did it take for you to get comfortable billing.
How long, on average, did it take you to study before you could pass the PHR/SPHR exam? Did you think it was worth it?
I’m looking for some examples of an employee recognition program. Does anyone have something they are willing to share? We are starting from scratch.
When a partner sends back your doc with tracked changes, should I do anything more than accept changes and proofread again? Seems like I am constantly just volleying minor changes back to them.
What is salary range for experienced Tax MD from Big 4 at mid-tier firm like BDO? Anyone made the move? Regrets? Recommendations? advice for offer negotiations?

Resume question. Do you include contract work on your resume or not if you have substantial reputable firm experience since (e.g. 5-6 years with the same firm)? Is having it in there better than the gap (~7 month gap) after law school? Just for full details, I was set to work at a small practice (~2 senior attorneys) and they rescinded due to losing a major client while I was studying for the bar in mid July) Thanks in advance for any advice!
Question for those who practice securities law, specifically ‘33 and ‘34 Act: is the weekend and night work often and terrible? Of course it happens from time to time and maybe firm/partner dependent but trying to gauge how bad it can be.
What are some best practices for handling an employee with dare I say, too much initiative? They tend to steamroll others and processes because they are so fast at their job and rather than taking a breather when done, start digging around for new projects outside of their scope. We value them but want to ensure others are given opportunity to thrive too.
I spend ten hours at the firm, work through lunch, and yet only bill 6 hours even though I’m working nonstop. What am I doing wrong? I’m a new associate and would legitimately appreciate some advice.
For those of you who spent the time and money to get the PHR or SHRM certifications, do you feel that it actually strengthened your professional capabilities as on HR professional, or did you just do it to fit into the “HR Professional” crowd?
Which books would you recommend to a product counel for tech startup about strategy, management, and leadership?
Currently on my employer’s health insurance plan and contributing to my HSA regularly. But we are having a baby soon and we plan to switch to my husband’s plan for family coverage. Can I still keep my HSA with my current employer and continue making contribution? Will my employer still match my HSA contribution even if I’m no longer covered by their plan?

Advised a client with a new Back to Office Op Model that has a separate year end cohort/comp review for people in the office greater than X days a year. Anyone else working on similar projects?
I started interviewing with a company back in January but they were taking while to make a decision so I put them out of my mind. Fast forward to last week and I found out that I’m newly pregnant. Now, I was offered the job. I don’t know what to do! I hate my current job and this new company seems like a better fit. Do I tell them before I accept the role? I know it’s very early and anything could happen with this pregnancy but I’m torn. Advice would be so helpful!
Hey everyone, I am currently a S2 at EY and I was reached out by Huron Consulting Group for a manager position within the Healthcare industry. Does anyone have any insight on Huron? Comp, culture, etc?
What are some tech exit opportunities after spending almost a decade in FS. Just starting my search. For people who have recently switched jobs - can you share the firm names? I am currently a senior manager in big 4.

One question - if I am currently (as a European citizen) in the process to get a work visa for the US, would it be a problem if I travel to other countries prior to getting the visa. In my questionnaire I had to answer to gather my personal visa related information I was asked if I have travel plans etc. and I am a bit wary that this would impact my visa application negatively
Ladies, I am so down right now and could use some advice. I was at Deloitte for almost 5 years and started to an analyst, was promoted to consultant and was on track for SC when one bad project and a really awful manager derailed things for me. I went industry and did marketing which I liked a lot, but could not sustain the pace and demands when my team was cut in half due to Covid. I was working the job of two to three people and the workload quadrupled. I worked nonstop. (Cont’d)
Employer 4 weeks ago: Everyone stay home. Keep working where you can. 2 weeks: If you aren’t on a project, use vacation time. This week: you can go on leave or part time employment. Next week: ?
