Do any managers do more than just manage and lead the team? Currently I manage the team, manage accounting, handle HR, handle marketing such as documents and emails, provide all of the technical support, and sell. My boss still works from home and only looks at the phone report to check the productivity. They refuse to look at my reports or complete activity logs. Because I have 4 hours of no phone activity daily, my boss believes I am not working hard enough. Cont.

We have a fixed PTO time plan (very generous) but leftover rates by now are enormous. It’s gonna be about 160 hours of unused PTO per employee in the end of the year, and we only rollover 80. We thought about rolling over everything, but then accruals get too high. Does anyone have creative ideas how we can roll over excessive hours and don’t make them wages at the same time...
Does anyone have a recommendation for a list broker? I am trying to find a legitimate vendor and I can’t seem to find one that doesn’t seem to be run out of a seedy back room.
Having read the Outward Mindset from the Arbinger Institute I wonder if any of you have used it in your business to help with a cultural mind shift? If so, do you have thoughts you can share? Thanks!!

What do you do on Monday to get your week set up? I feel like I spend so much time helping my team get their pipelines in shape for the week / setting up a plan.
What's your organization's stance on surveys? I've been in the HR department of my organization for a year and a half, we've never sent any type of engagement, satisfaction, NPS, etc. survey to employees. I've just been made aware that our Executive team and our CEO are not a fan of employee surveys so that's why we don't do them. Is this...normal? Or is it dysfunctional as an HR department to not be doing surveys?
Looking to learn more about how others determine the correct cadence to advertise for evergreen requisitions or invitations to join a talent pool without over saturating the audience?
What does your company’s performance management cycle look like? Do you do quarterly reviews? Decouple compensation from feedback? What does the calendar look like?
What activities do yall use to build rapport with your customer base? As an example, the old troed and true method of inviting a cuatomer to a round of golf. Currently, I am trying to see if my base is into mountain biking.
I've been in account management/sales hybrid roles for the last 8 years at 2 different companies. I am looking for roles that are strictly sales based where I do not have to do a bunch follow up forever trying to grow the business. I enjoy the sales cycle and don't mind following up for a year if thats what it takes to get my contract back but I am just not into the long term account development. I currently work remote and am open to 50% travel. Any hot leads or advice?
It feels weird posting a LinkedIn post in FishBowl, but I found this post from Jamal very insightful. I would have just copied the text, but I want to give him credit.
Does anyone have ideas on how to help local businesses during this time from a work perspective? Our engagement committee thought of buying gift cards and somehow incorporating ways to give back but our matching gift program applies to organizations that are only IRS tax exempt. I am trying to find a way that the company can help with giving back to local business. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Hi! What are your companies doing regarding sign on bonuses for interns this year? We ended up having our full intern program this summer and plan to extend offers. Are companies getting rid of sign on bonuses for entry level employees this year? Any insight would be appreciated!
Hi, I’m new to fishbowl and am excited to utilize it! Does anyone here work in the Auto Sales Industry? If so, how have sales been as of recent?
Actively seeking a new opportunity and I am slowly starting to feel discouraged due to lack of response. Anyone else having issues searching for employment right now?

Curious - what do you want out of life? Why do you want that? What is your “why” and “how” for what you’re working towards?
Guidehojse folks- recruiter reached out to me about an experienced associate position. Little bit confused how this fits in with the associate -> senior associate -> manager model.
If FAANG PM roles are the new “prestige”, what graduate programs guarantee employment into FAANG at the same rate M7 lines you up for roles at MBB? Coding bootcamps don’t seem to be answer....neither does “Master in X”🧐
Found out today I got blacklisted from a company I previously interned at almost 4 years ago. The internship didn’t end well but the present role was ideal and would have gotten me a 60% salary bump. Feeling like my career took a hit. I’ve never dealt with a blacklist like this and whether it could spread to other companies I try to interview for.
What are some activities or programs you would participate in (either at or outside of work) to bridge the divide / foster ties between the Asian and Black community? I’m damn proud of being Asian and while I personally find it harder to befriend black people because of my personal lack of culture overlap, I absolutely believe in strengthening ties between all minorities. Know my Asian buds might feel the same or prefer other activities first so crowdsourcing what would make y’all interested?...
Considering a freelance position in the bay area and I was wondering if a relocation package is a normal thing to ask for, especially since the cost of living will definitely be a jump up.
Did Accenture layoffs impact Workday? I thought they were hiring and thriving until I saw a post on another bowl.
(1/2) Advice needed: I had a fantastic interview exactly 3wks ago. Agency said they liked me and are waiting for new biz pitch results before they can hire. Sent a thank you note a few days after
I am lucky enough to have a long maternity leave of 16-23 weeks. My husband also can take 16 weeks. I plan to take 21 weeks with STD and Family Leave. For those who are lucky enough to have both partners receiving family leave, how did you break it up? Or for those who wish their partners had more time, when do you think it’s best for the other partner to take their leave time?
A friend of mine from the Big 4 is leaving to go for his PhD this fall. I actually have considered doing that myself at some point. How much demand is out there for professors in the next 5-10 years?
so weird when you walk into the bathroom and all basic manners are thrown out the window. Global head of my product just ripped a huge one while taking a piss
Out of all the big 4 companies which is the best in terms of a IT work (tech assurance, cyber, ... etc) I know it defers by revenue or number of clients or growth. But any input would be great.
What are exit options for someone who worked 2-3 years (reached senior) in risk advisory, projects include: Internal audit and fait. I know internal audit is a big one but are there other pivots ?
Considering making a switch from Big 4. Comments to share on bonus this year and in a normal year? Culture?
I heard EY’s consulting growth has been outpacing that of the rest of the big 4. What’s driving that? Don’t we all have the same strategy?
