Hamilton Nolan, a senior writer at Splinter News who covers Politics, Labor, and Inequality, will host a Fishbowl Q&A for advertising professionals about unionizing agencies and the ad industry on Thursday, May 23.
The issues of unions is one of the most discussed topics in Fishbowl’s advertising industry, and the Q&A will highlight the following topics:
- Do unions make sense for white collar professionals
- How do you know whether to form a union?
- Could advertising professionals realistically unionize?
Before working at Splinter News, Hamilton wrote at Gawker for 8 years. In 2015, he and his colleagues at Gawker Media became the first online media company to unionize, joining the Writers Guild of America, East.
Hamilton is currently a council member with the WGAE.
