It’s that time of the year for creatives in Advertising. Award show deadlines.
Finding the perfect music for your case study, good lord. It needs to be anthemic but approachable, unique but familiar, fresh but not too edgy, invigorating but not too aggressive, accessible but not cheesy. Kill me now.
Thankfully, one of our Fishbowl users, Creative Director Louis Wittig, has made it easier by compiling a Spotify playlist called Case Study Jams. You can find this 400 song, 27 hour-long predictive playlist on Spotify and YouTube.
Wittig watched over 591 case study videos that had won at Cannes, D&AD and The One Show, identified the tracks that they had used, and fed them into Spotify’s algorithm.
“A good case study track is familiar without being generic. It needs to draw attention, but not to itself. And more often than not, it has to be instrumental so as not to fight with the self-important voiceover.” Wittig said.
