Canât imagine why this individual was let go? The letter filled with expletives, no level of personal accountability and victim mentality- shocking this person was not made a Partner day 1.
A number of years ago a Mentor told me the firm should make you happy either while you are here or the day you say goodbye- hope this day individual found happiness đ
P1âs attitude reeks of Deloitte
âEvery single day was her harassing me, insulting me, condescending to me, and SHAMING ME in front of the entire team over nothing (clarifying something confusing she said, for example, meant announcing to the team that I have hearing problems).â
Laura???
We have 1-2 of those as well.
A lot of these comments are the toxicity that person wrote about. Canât you just sympathize with someone who obviously reached their breaking point instead of just kicking them when theyâre already down?
Who works through deaths in their family? Seems like poor judgement

So cute
I am really empathetic to the person who had to go through the situation. I would say to some extent I have gone through it at one point in my career and so do many. But one thing I have learnt is I need to take care of myself and cannot depend on others. If I am able to get through big4 , I am confident that I always have other options if things went totally south as in this case. Mental health is of prime importance. No job is permanent and the search for right fit is a journey and only lucky ones find the destination
Sounds about right

What an entitled little brat... must have been a pleasure to have on ones team.... not! đ
Funniest part is âscheduling did not help at all. I did it myselfâ. Oh no shit lady. Scheduling never helps. Itâs always on you
All scheduling ever did was to hurt me.
And are we any more loyal to our employers? Offer me a big pay raise and/ or promotion, Iâm outta here!

I would argue that yes, employees are more loyal than employers. But not by much
Playing a different game - Long shot, but guessing Toronto office and graduate of Waterlooâs AFM program.
Wouldn't be surprised. Should approach work more like Raeshaun the kpmg accountant.
Oof. Thatâs rough. I think the lesson here is to never let your company work you so hard that you sacrifice everything else in your life.
I mean, this is the job, right? Itâs all âat willâ employment that means the company can make the best decision for itself at any time. Thereâs no contractual obligation that X score = retention. They feel itâs better to go with other employees, not this one. It sucks, it may feel arbitrary, but itâs not unfair. At worst, bad luck.
I mean, what is âunfair?â One could argue that the lack of the things you mentioned IS what is unfair

Welcome to consulting my young friend. Now that youâve finish your first year rinse and repeat for 40 more. That extra bit you make/should make is why we put up with it. I would make exactly 40k less in industry. I consider that 40k my bonus for the shit I put up with.
I mean technically this is not inaccurate
There are for sure plenty of people who experience what they have shared
