If I switch to a more stable industry position where I'm working at a higher level that I am right now (staff/analyst) and have three solid years of exp, how will that look for top mba programs? I am an underrepresented male with a 3.3 from a top state school and shooting for 670+ on GMAT
Additionally,if you were me, would you stick until promotion or does it not hurt if I switch to industry before applying to MBA (Class of 2021)
When I mean lack of interest I mean, I'm not doing any work of my interest.
As long as you could make it more of a story other than wanting stability you got a good chance. Aim for 700+. Essentially try and highlight how your path of switching jobs was more about allowing you to exercise and develop some skill set and interest and shape how b school will help you get to that step.
3.3 GPA and a 670 GMAT is very below average for top MBA programs. Underrepresented male or not, it's not a convincing resume at this point
