How young are you? I don’t think you’ll fully realize the value of an MBA without having lived in the “real world” first

This is a good time to study for and take the GMAT. If you're actually just graduating you should wait 3-4 years before you apply. Even if you get into a T15 school the jobs you want post MBA won't take you seriously if your only experience is a 1 year internship.

Yeah ^. Nows ur time to bust ur ass on the gmat and get a high score u can use in 3-4 years when u apply. No top 15 school will let u in with no work experience. U wanna take ur gmat now because, and trust me, it’s hard to take it seriously while working...

I get that SC1, but I don’t think I’ll want to go back once I’m fully in the working world. Would the initial loss impact the ROI long term?

C1: I’m 23. I have been fully supporting myself and investing earnings in portfolios/it’s for a few years.

I tink you'll lose a lot of value if you go now, and I think it will effect the schools you get into + your recruiting efforts. Maybe you're more if a candidate for a PT / online / EMBA in a few years of going back isn't going to be your thing - it's worth considering.

You won’t get in to a Top 15 with no experience or just 1 year, so question is moot. No offense or anything- it’ll benefit both you and your classmates if you come in with 3 or more years of experience

What do MBA grads do at tech firms? The data on any B-School's website says that consulting pays more than tech to MBA grads, however, going by the threads on this app, it seems as if tech pays more. Does the website data not include RSUs? Or does consulting actually pay more? Thanks a lot for your time and effort!

How do you handle attraction in the work place. During my summer internship I was really attracted to this girl I shared a office with. She was way out of my league so I didn't even attempt to ask her out or anything. Plus you don't hookup where you vlookup. During one of the days she wore a really short skirt and I got a bit aroused. Since my housing was really close, during lunch I went home and fixed the issue. How do you handle being aroused at work?

Career question. Currently a big4 financial tax manager doing mostly fed compliance. I do not wish to become a partner as selling business is not my thing. I've been entertaining two exit options. Exit now as more of a general accounting role hoping to be a controller one day vs wait couple more years and exit at SM/director level hoping to be a head of tax or tax director somewhere. The end goal for me is to make as much as possible and be able to retire from corporate grinds.

Did anyone at EY find out promotion decision already?

5 years ago, I decline an opp to interview with Bain for an internal role. I think the title was process / tools specialist and the purpose was to provide SME on resources available to Bain’s consultants. Does anyone here have a sense of what the pay is for that type of role? I had been working as a consultant in HR Tech at the time and chose to move to industry instead. Bain had been a lifelong goal and I convinced myself I wasn’t good enough. It’s felt like the one that got away since.
