Hi IBM Sharks 🦈
I got the following mail today from my people manager:
"Hi Team,
All the IBM employees need to work from office for minimum 3 days a week starting 1st Nov. Please plan accordingly."
I have a medical condition lf slipped disc and I do have MRI, XRay, Prescriptions to validate that.
Will the people manager listen or send it to IBM doctor for validation? And is there any doctor in IBM or its just the people manager who takes the decision?

Huge respect to all the women who fought for their reproductive rights and bodily autonomy. I never understood why men have a say in this, I don't see women picketing my workplace or my healthcare provider's office protesting me getting my tubes tied or attacking my doctor for neutering me. As someone religious, its NOT my place to judge the choices of someone who wants to get an abortion. Don't support abortion? Then don't get one!

How old were you when you got it done?
30
I’m considering this. I’m several months in with my first IUD and I bleed every damn day still…. But I live in the south and am single, so finding a willing doctor will be even more difficult
Director1 - if it’s what you want don’t give up. Try your current thing sure, but if it’s what you know in your heart you want, don’t give up the fight over your own reproductive health. I’ve heard some awful stories of IUDs, and some great ones too. What’s right for one person isn’t right for everyone, make your decision for you. And feel free to DM me if you need to talk.
Thank you for posting this! Inspiration for me - I'm 2 years away from 30 and thinking of getting my tubes tied too..
How were the side effects/post surgery healing?
It was a really sucky weekend, maybe 4 days of restricted overall activity, but after that it was totally fine. I went to outpatient surgery on a Thursday and back to work Monday.
Unexpected side effects: super regular periods, noticeable PMS a few time per year, not blaming weight gain on hormones but instead my terrible eating (also motivated me to fix it).
