2009: Graduated high school and started undergrad
2019: Base $131K | Base + bonus $137K
No MBA. Extremely thankful for how much support I’ve received in my organization to get me this far and for continuing to support my future development. Came from a low income family and am 6 years out of undergrad. Helping my parents out feels great and glad I can support them as they age and my brother who is in medical school. 🙏

2009 125k, 2019 170K, unemployed for 6 months, never had decent mentors or managers. 2 masters degrees, 2 bachelors degrees, no MBA, no more education. I feel my base pay increases are a joke and my career has been at a complete standstill. Very thankful for what I have. Very content as is. Friends and family can’t understand why i am not chasing money at all and think I should be at the 250k-300k range or higher with my combo of leadership, management, technical knowledge, and years in the field. Even now don’t have a counselor/mentor that can guide me even though I have one assigned. Need some advice on a path forward. In consulting only for the last 2 years.

D5, agree with K3. If you’re as qualified as you say you are, you should at least evaluate a change even if you decide to not act on it. Some times inertia makes it nearly impossible to make changes. You should do a comparative analysis of what your peers are making at your firm and elsewhere and decide on what you want to do differently.

2009: $27,000
2019: $115,000

So I'm apparently still poor compared to the rest of y'all but it's a world of difference to me and I'm grateful.

I'm 112k from 35k, so I'm with you and completely agree

2009: $4.50/hr not including tips, and I didn’t make much in tips except on fight nights - worked at an awful sports bar that year

2019: I’m at 72k. I should’ve negotiated higher for my skill set/experience, but honestly I’m happy not to be working at sports bars and diners anymore.

That is awesome :)

X in 2009; 9.9X in 2019 #blessed #grateful

While we are amazingly blessed, hard-working, and lucky to be doing making what we make by doing what we do, it’s also humbling to see the ten-year change in wealth for the richest WEF Davos attendees this year (see Bloomberg article for more). And in some ways, also think about how we use our good fortune to lift other boats #payitforward

MGR7. Sure, the life of your SO and kids is better. Meanwhile you still slave in the same office and fly the same planes. But if he’d crank up that savings rate, the partner would be chilling in retirement in no time.

I’m looking at all these people who graduated around the same time as I did and trying to figure out what I did wrong 😂. Still very fortunate at 83k vs “- tuition+room+board"
