Sometimes as a manager I have to do some of the grunt work to make the analysts on my team feel more valued

A1: I totally get that, and I don't mind getting my hands dirty. But this has been a day in and day out thing. My sole responsibility is updating excels and giving numbers for decks. I literally have up to 9 different excels open for the entirety of the day. It's the only thing I've done for a few months. My only thing I do is excel and track things. I give reports and update numbers.

I’m assuming this is Consulting, not Advisory? Have all of your projects been this way or just the latest one? Also, since you came in at $110k two years ago, have your raises been sufficient? May be time to move on.

like

M1: I'm in my third year now, went through the whole covid thing, but I got great ratings and all that. I think it might be time to move on. I think D is so vastly unstaffed and top heavy, it's caused a skew in responsibilities and project roles. I'm far from awesome, but I feel like my team is using a sledgehammer to drive a thumbtack into a cork board.

like

Hey OP! What’s your question? Understand that this is not what you prefer to do. Can you get on a project where you can lead a work stream? How important is this promotion to you? If it’s not, have you thought about moving out of D?

It's fine. You have the brand on your resume now. Make it work for you and get that 💰 elsewhere. Every consulting firm seems to be on a hiring spree right now if you want to stay in consulting.

10 yoe up for sc? Is this a serious post? No disrespect.

D2: yeah, from my other EH friends, I hear very similar frustrations. I know of at least 3-4 EH friends that are leaving after 6/11. Within the last year, I've known at least 10 people that decided to leave.

Zscaler sales position vs EY? I’m a technical guy and I’ve been at EY 2 years and can’t stand that they AGAIN made the mistake to staff me on a non-tech compliance audit rather than a technical or strategy project. I hate it. Recruiter reach out for a technical sales position at zscaler.. would y’all consider? long term what would be the best? figured out I don’t wanna be in a compliance role. but I like leadership (e.g. would love to be a CISO in a manufacturing company-but not a tech co/bank)

Any help with making a decision here? I'm considering both as a Sr Consultant (I'm a manager but paid less than either): - EY Parthenon 180K base + bonus (avg range 12-18% w a max of 25% so 45K). I got this salary range from the recruiter - BCG but I don't know an actual salary offer for this. So I'm looking online seeing 165K base + some bonus "range" and a max of 40K. BCG seems low comparatively, especially given the old "horror stories" of work/life balance. But I've heard good changes!
